VIDEO: Stoke’s Berahino swears at reporters when arriving at court and gets parking fine

Stoke City footballer Saido Berahino has been captured on camera swearing at reporters and photographers as he turned up to court.

Two weeks ago, he was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving in the early hours of Monday 18th of February, was detained after reports of a “disturbance” in Great Russell Street in the capital’s West End and claimed that he was trying to flee an attack by a gang.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: “When officers arrived on scene a car was seen to drive away at speed.

“The car was stopped in Bedford Square and a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

“He alleged a group of males surrounded his car in Great Russell Street and attacked him, stealing his watch.”

A witness told The Sun: “He had been in the [VQ] restaurant getting food with a man and two women, he was maybe there for an hour.

“VQ is open 24 hours, it is the kind of place you go after a night out.

“I saw him leave the restaurant and then all of a sudden there was shouting and yelling and stuff by the doorway.

“He was scuffling with some boys, I think they had just got out a car. It was all of a sudden and because we were inside we couldn’t really see what it was all about.

“The next thing he ran over to a black Range Rover, got in and drove off quickly.

“He pulled in to the next left from where we were, it wasn’t very far at all and the next thing he was being stopped by police.

“We saw him being arrested for drink driving and then being led away by the police.”

This afternoon, he arrived at court and swore at the media, he could be heard saying: “Fuck all of you man, get the fuck out the way man, fucking idiots”.

After denying one count of drink driving, he came out an hour later and discovered he had a parking fine slapped on his Mercedes-AMG GTR Roadster.

He was granted unconditional bail until his trial on 15 May.

Berahino has scored five goals in 26 appearances for the club this season, however didn’t play or even make the squad for Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Ipswich.
