Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah hilarious rejected a reporter after mistakenly assuming she was trying to kiss him after Saturday night’s Champions League win over Tottenham.
He smashed home the the opening goal in the final at Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid, netting from the penalty spot with just two minutes on the clock before Divock Origi came off the bench to confirm the victory for the Reds in the 88th minute.
He said the interview: “Honestly I don’t know what to say.
“Everybody’s happy now, we’ve won the final. It’s our second final in a row, and I got to play 90 minutes finally.
“There wasn’t one great individual performance for anyone, but all the team were brilliant tonight. Congratulations to all of us and all the fans around the world.
“I sacrificed a lot in my career, especially to leave my parents in Cairo to play football.
“To be an Egyptian in the Champions League, it’s unbelievable. I’m very glad for that.”
Salah then hilariously rejected the female reporter, thinking she was trying to go in for a kiss, raising his hand politely as she leaned, but that was only so that she could get him to listen to her questions better as the noise inside the stadium was incredible loud.
