After the game, fans took to give their reaction to the video of a police officer punching a Leeds fan, some defended it stating it was a tactic that they are taught if the fan is not cooperating, others suggested he get the sack…

The policeman was telling him to get back and he kept pushing forward. Do as you're told.

That’s disgraceful and I’m a hudders fan. This is why things escalate with kid kops with an agenda against football fans. Things like that will turn the clock back 20 years then hel be getting a twatting

Looked like an aggressive crowd to me. Would like a different camera angle to see what provoked that.

To be fair, those cops have been tasked by gaffers to stop the crowd advancing for good reason. They clearly weren't having it and a cop used a technique to keep them back. Yes it was a punch but come on it was soft and no harm done. Hard job…respect. Maybe a nice bloke too

Get his badge number as that looks like assault to me

@pagechord: Have no idea how this situation was allowed to develop. But I would have thought the least dangerous thing would have been to allow them forward in a slow and orderly manner. Would appreciate those in charge coming forward with their reasoning.

@RupertTrousers: “Get back” ? He’s got 500 blokes behind him

@leethompson234: Does he work part time security at Barnsley

@Greggsy2324: That copper needed pulling in the crowd and battering clearly the wrong mentality for that situation

@villandrew: Somewhere along the line he probably deserved a punch , we probably all have at some point #movealongnothingtoseehere

@LufcKirky: Sacked in the mooooorning

@JonHegerty: What are the Police trying to achieve there? How can they “get back”? Where are they supposed to go?

@elland1964: To be honest was a shocking punch .
