VIDEO: Police hold back Ipswich boss Paul Lambert as he gets sent off in derby against Norwich

Police had to hold back Ipswich Town boss Paul Lambert as he was getting sent off in today’s East Anglian Derby at Norwich City this afternoon.

The Canaries head of performance Chris Domogalla was also sent to the stands and it all unfolded when Jon Nolan made a late heavy tackle on Max Aarons.

Norwich and Ipswich players came together on the sidelines before those in both benches got involved in the heated moment.

As Lambert made his way down the tunnel, he had a fair few comments to say towards his former club’s supporters.

Watch the moment when the manager got held back by police before Norwich boss David Farke winked at what we going on beside him…

It came on the stroke of half time with Norwich going into the break at 1-0 up.

The opening goal of the game came just two minutes in when Norwich got the ball forward and Onel Hernandez swooped in to put the Canaries ahead.

Half way through the second half, Teemu Pukki made it 2-0 before poking in a third ten minutes from time for his 20th Championship goal of the season.

It means that Norwich overtake Leeds United at the top of the Championship table as the Whites grabbed a late equaliser to draw with Middlesbrough yesterday.

As Ipswich lost today’s game, it sees them remain rock bottom of the league and nine points from safety.

After watching Lambert get whisked away by police, fans took to Twitter to mock the heated scenes – take a look at what they had to say on the next page.
