VIDEO: Player grabs keeper’s testicles as melee breaks out during Luton v Blackburn

Player Henri Lansbury grabs a keeper’s testicles as a melee breaks out during Luton v Blackburn, with video footage getting plenty of talk.

A huge scuffle broke out in the Rovers penalty area, with both Harry Cornick and Thomas Kaminski picking up yellow cards.

As the game had been simmering away nicely, late on it threatened to boil over with both sets of players came together, but referee James Linington booking the two players for their troubles.

Though eagle eyed viewers have adjudged Henri Lansbury to be ‘grabbing the balls’ of the opposition keeper, see the video for yourself below…

Blackburn stayed in the Championship‘s top two despite being held by Luton Town in a awful goalless draw.

The Hatters came closest to breaking the deadlock in the 40th minute when forward Cameron Jerome struck the post.

Luton had earlier gone close through Kal Naismith, who dragged an effort narrowly wide after 30 minutes, while Blackburn created very few chances and are now just one point clear of third-place Bournemouth having played a game more.

Blackburn were missing Championship top scorer Ben Brereton-Diaz on international duty with Chile.

Tony Mowbray’s side’s suffered another blow in attack when striker Sam Gallagher came off with concussion shortly after half time.

The visitors rarely troubled Nathan Jones’ side, who jumped up to 10th, six points off the top six.

Luton also created little in the second period and seemed content with a draw at full time.

Luton Town manager Nathan Jones told BBC Three Counties Radio:

“I thought we should have won the game because we had two glorious chances [in the] first half. Conditions really played a part, I didn’t realise how windy it was.

“The amount of games we have had as well, you try to freshen things up, so you are always going to be missing that spark. We tried to win it late on but I’m really pleased. It has been a 10-point month plus the FA Cup win – I would have taken that all day long.”

He added: “With the way that the league is and the brutality of the game schedule and what you have to do, sometimes it’s hard to be pure and full of energy and spark. These are a tough side to play against, second in the league, but I felt we were at least good value for a point.

“We’ve had the two best chances of the game, Kal Naismith should score, Cameron Jerome should score, and then we’ve had some set-plays there with just a bit of communication we would have had some free headers from point-blank range. So we were probably slightly the better side today, but it was a real tight game and playing against Blackburn who have dominated and overrun sides. I’m relatively pleased, plus it’s been a 10-point month and the FA Cup win, so it’s been a really good month for us.”

Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray told BBC Radio Lancashire:

“The game was absolutely shocking to be honest. I haven’t seen many worse football matches. But it was blood and thunder, it was guts. I think the officials had a really shocking day as well.

“The team is losing some very key footballers at the moment. It looked like a team of kids playing up front. Take the point, put it in the bag, move on. We have a clean sheet, there is a positive.”

He added: “I said that to the team, we’re disappointed with the performance, but it wasn’t a game for either team. It wasn’t a beauty contest, it was about digging in today, and not making the mistakes that would cost you a 1-0 defeat.

“I don’t know how Nathan (Jones) feels, let’s just both take the point, forget about the game. I don’t think we’ll be spending too long on breaking it down and looking at why we didn’t do this and why we didn’t do that.”

Twitter users reacted as player Henri Lansbury seemingly grabs the keeper’s testicles as a melee breaks out during Luton v Blackburn…

@oohmoz1: Lansbury grabs the keeper’s balls that’s y he goes mad

@beng6578: Love this side. Tommy K having a do this time.

@Sp4rky82: Should of been Rovers free kick. For Hand-Ball.

@jamesgeesus: Surely players grabbing other players testicles should lead to some sort of lengthy ban? Kaminski had every right to go after him and ended up getting a yellow. If someone done that on a night out they’d be arrested.
