VIDEO: Leyton Orient player Macauley Bonne chants “fuck off Salford” with celebrating fans

Leyton Orient player Macauley Bonne has been shown on television chanting “fuck off Salford” with celebrating fans yesterday afternoon.

It came following the final whistle of their 0-0 clash with Braintree Town, which was enough to seal their return to the Football League since 2017.

The fans legged it onto the pitch to congratulate the players on their effort and hand work for the season before chants broke out dissing league rivals Salford City, who lost at Hartlepool and will have to go through playoffs if they want that all important promotion.

The tweet not only caught the attention of Gary Neville, but he also ‘liked’ it and is said to have ‘retweeted’ it too.

Following the final whistle, Leyton Orient boss Justin Edinburgh spoke to BBC Radio London:

“I realised today [what it meant to the fans] after the final whistle and being involved in the celebrations and seeing the jubilation on so many people’s faces.

“The players have played under an incredible amount of pressure home and away. We are everyone’s cup final and I don’t care what anyone says but everyone raises their game against us.

“What we have to realise is that today is a start and we’re not going to step back or stay where we are, we want to try and continue to move forward.

“There’s some players we need to try and keep at this club but where we are now, we shouldn’t have any difficulty in keeping them.”

Macaualy Bonne has pivotal in the O’s promotion from the National League, not only has he scored 23 in 46 for them this season making him the leagues’ third highest scorer, but since arriving at the Brisbane Road side in 2017, he’s netted 45 times in 89 matches.
