The Croatian footballer could be seen visibly let out a screech before quickly making his way down the tunnel, left shaking and grabbing his hand to try and numb the pain.
Terry held up his hand to say sorry for the accidental damage done.
Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker joked: “Quick little handshake… oh he’s strong is John! Sorry about that! Three points but only three fingers.”
Pundit Jermaine Jenas asked: “Did he mean it?”
But Danny Murphy replied: “No, I don’t think so.”
The trio then laughed when watching back the replays of the incident, which came after Chelsea won 2-1 against Villa..
Tammy Abraham opened the scoring before Trezeguet netted an equaliser for Villa, but Mason Mount sealed Chelsea with all three points with a superb volley shortly after the restart.
Lampard was also asked about Terry’s return at Chelsea: “He had his moment on the pitch.
“It is difficult when you come back, I did it last year, to a club that you feel so much for and visa-versa as they did with John.
‘You are working and part of another team, another club and he is respectful of Aston Villa, I know that. ‘It wasn’t a massive celebration time but the respect both ways is huge.”
