Fans have been left reeling in today’s lunchtime kick off as VAR rules out Harry Kane’s goal because his ARMPIT was offside.

The Tottenham and England player thought he had opened the scoring in the 24th minute against Brighton, but VAR disallowed his strike on review.

Harry Winks sent in a ball over the top to Kane, who then rolled it calmly past Mat Ryan, producing celebrations from Spurs fans who saw nothing wrong with it.

The images also showed that the striker’s feet were in front of his opponents’ as he ran to get on the end of Winks’ pass.

A slow opening period for Spurs proved too costly, as shortly after the VAR decision, Graham Potter’s side went ahead.

On the 37th minute, Pascal Gross’ sent in an inviting free-kick, unmarked Webster rose and nodded the ball beyond Paulo Gazzaniga from six yards out.

The Seagulls went into the break ahead but Kane did finally get a goal that counted in the second half.

Lucas Moura’s searching run towards the Brighton box and the ball broke into the path of Harry Kane inside the area.

His first effort was saved by Mat Ryan, but rebounded to Kane who right-footed into the bottom corner.

Dele Alli completed Tottenham’s comeback on the 72nd minute, Eriksen played a beautiful pass to Serge Aurier, who pulled it back for Alli to smash in the second.

Spurs took all three points to take them 5th in the Premier League table with 29 points, Brighton stay 13th with 20 points, four clear of the drop.

That will all change over come the 3pm kick offs.
