Fans feel sorry for an interviewer as Crawley Town boss John Yems produces another epic rant following a 2-1 defeat at Stevenage.
Jake Taylor and Luke Norris found the net either side of a strike from Tom Nichols which gave the home side all three points and ended the Reds unbeaten start to 2022 on League Two.
And when Crawley lose a game of football, it really makes John Yems unhappy, which in turn makes his post-match interviews rather amusing as a neutral.
Start your Wednesday right with some classic Yems.

He said: “Absolute dogs. We didn’t deserve anything from the game in the end.
“We have only lost one game out of six but unfortunately it’s the way you lose it and I wasn’t happy with the way we lost the game today.”
When asked whether three away games on the bounce, including the long trip to Carlisle on Saturday, had an impact, he replied: “Don’t start about long journeys, we weren’t good enough tonight, we bottled it.
“We can’t keep doing it. We did it last year. If we have got any ambitions to push on you have got to come here and at least get a point. We should have done that and we didn’t.
“We are giving away terrible goals. I thought we had got over that.
“We put ourselves under pressure more than they did.”
He said: “Let’s get today out of the way, let’s shake ourselves down. If we compete like we did tonight, it will be a bowling score [on Saturday].
“Thanks to all the fans for coming but you can tell I have got the hump tonight.”
Crawley skipper George Francomb said they got what deserved in their defeat to Stevenage.
He said: “Disappointed in the result and I think the performance to a certain extent. I think we were the more dominant and superior team but ultimately we have come away with nothing.
“Fair play to Stevenage, I don’t think we had that cutting edge and we gave away two sloppy goals so we got what we deserved in the end.
“The first half we were completely the dominant team and we should have been in the lead at the break. Second half we weren’t quite as fluent but we were still the team in the ascendency but if you give away cheap goals like that then you get what you deserve.
“We are very disappointed, back on it on Saturday. Get back at home and hopefully get on a good run again.”
CEO of Crawley Town, Erdem_Konyar, said after watching the footage of Yems: “The gaffer is a top bloke. He says it how it is and doesn’t bemoan fixture schedules and injuries (Prem manager who has 20 plus out on loan does). Team had to travel from Carlisle Saturday.3 games in a week.Every player is encouraged and supported to the maximum by the gaffer.”
As mentioned, fans feel for the interviewer as Crawley boss John Yems produces another epic rant…
@veness_phil: We are blessed to have this man as our manager. Does wonders with zero money, says it how it is. Got us mid table and playing good stuff at times. Long may he continue as our gaffer
@_JamesWood_: @DomMorgan17 imagine having to interview this bloke regularly, or at all really!
@DomMorgan17: Would dread every loss as an interviewer 😅
@Brackers123: Top bloke, has the fans and the club at heart which is why he gets wound up
@SamTJohnston24: He got the hump alright! 😬
@JackBrough15: Christ, I thought Askey, Aspin, Brown were negative
@maxihobbs: Hope we get Yems when Duffo goes 🥴
@djliamh: Some may find this amusing but if I was the interviewer I would have stopped the interview straight away. Dickish behaviour especially when it’s clearly your clubs media team asking questions 🤢
@moore_johnny: Always entertaining
@ToteEndBarPod: Long live John Yems
@SfcDanny: John Yems is such a sour man, classless as well. Didn’t really respect us much in his interview by saying “when you come to sides like these”
@AndyFord33107:
Like the line “don’t use disappointing yes it’s disappointing.”
Admin must dread doing these interviews though.
@rpjt4383:
“When we play these sort of sides that, I don’t know what they do and I don’t know how they play. I’m not to bothered about to be honest wiv ya”
Great preparation and management fella.
Think I’ve found your problem.
@mattytrfcjamess: Always gave him stick over his post match interviews but it’s refreshing to get genuine honest answers out of manager, isn’t doing a bad job at Crawley either
