VIDEO: Ex-Cardiff player Nathan Jones in shithouse celebrations after Luton win at Swansea

Ex-Cardiff player Nathan Jones got himself in some shithouse celebrations after Luton picked up a win at Bluebirds rivals Swansea City.

The Hatters boss was jumping for joy with the travelling support last night, right in the faces of the home fans after the full time whistle.

As a former Cardiff youth player, he showed how much it meant to him, many fans laughing while other thought he went over the top.

Harry Cornick came off the bench to score what ended up being the only goal of the game against Swansea on the 72nd minute, something which put Luton to within three points of the Championship playoff places.

The striker scored his first goal for three months, and his eighth of the season, to leave the Welsh outfit with just one win in their last seven games.

By contrast, Luton have won four of their last seven and their fans are ecstatic at the turnaround, dreaming of top flight football.

Swansea’s Russell Martin said post-match: “I think we were the better team. We had three huge chances and didn’t score. They didn’t cause us much harm. They’re really good at what they do and you can see why they’re doing so well in the league. I didn’t see many problems with the performance in general. I thought we were dominant and when we beat the press we looked really dangerous.

“The lads are giving us everything they’ve got. We had a lot of the ball, but we have to make more of it. Unfortunately, at the moment, the final third is not quite there, it’s not clicking. We have to score when we’re on top. We conceded such a poor goal and that was so disappointing. You can’t concede a goal like that.”

Manager Nathan Jones was delighted with a 1-0 away win at Swansea, crediting the team for their performance: “It’s a massive win. For me, these are as difficult a side to play against in terms of trickiness, they dominate possession and they caused real problems. You have to be organised, be aggressive and real clinical when you get the opportunities and that’s what we were today. Wonderful away performance.

“They had one chance first half where Sheasy made a great save and you’re going to need your goalkeeper when you go away. A great win to follow up the month we’ve just had.

“Tactical awareness that we had today was wonderful. Strong, disciplined, aggressive. We had chances and the game changers come on and won us the game, it was a complete away performance, to come here and win 1-0 is a wonderful result.

“We are very close to those play-off positions and we have a game in hand. What we’ve asked them to do, the four games we’ve had called off – Reading, Bristol City, Swansea and Coventry – we’ve won all three so far and we celebrated because the fans were magnificent, come down here on a Tuesday night, massive journey, so we wanted to repay them.”
