It’s been alleged that a disabled Bolton Wanderers supporter was pushed down some stairs by a copper at Leeds United.
The incident came in a game which saw Marcelo Bielsa’s men defeat the struggling Trotters side in their home league game at Elland Road yesterday afternoon.
Jonathan, the disabled fan who was pushed, has not always been disabled. An accident whilst he was in the RAF left him with injuries that meant he was unable to work. If that doesn’t encourage you to buy disability insurance online so that your income is protected, nothing will. He has since taken to the Bolton Wanderers Supporters’ Group to speak of what happened.
He wrote: “Most of you might not know me, I’m a huge Bolton fan and I’ve also been to most away games this season to take my mind of things that have happened whilst in the RAF. I suffer with a physical injury as well as mental health problems and I was medically discharged in December.
“Yesterday I went to enjoy a decent game of footy at Leeds but ended up being thrown down 10 concrete steps in the concourse. My injury was mad worse and now my depression is at its highest again and now don’t know how to make it through this.
“I never did anything to that copper. After I was cleared by the doctor, they arrested me on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, which is an absolute joke.”
When asked whether it was a steward or policeman, he said: “It was a policeman mate. He was a PLO Police Liaison Officer and was wearing a blue police vest.”
When asked what he was going to do about it, he wrote: “Gonna fill out an online complaint form and then look at suing them for this.”
A few social media posts was posted of the aftermath, take a look for yourself below…

The game itself, Patrick Bamford broke the deadlock on the 16th minute with a penalty after Tyler Roberts was fouled in the box by Pawel Olkowski.
However the Trotters got themselves back into the game five minutes later when Mark Beevers levelled the scoreline with a rebound following Kalvin Phillips clearing a header off the line and Kiko Casilla then making a great save.
Ezgjan Alioski put Leeds back in front when his cross in from the right deceived keeper Remi Matthews as it floated into the net.
However following the Macedonian’s goal, he received a shoulder barge from Josh Magennis before it then caused a melee on the touchline.
Players and staff of both sides got involved, Bolton’s manager Phil Parkinson ended up getting sent off.
Following the incident on the touchline, fans took to social media to give their reaction on it, the majority laughing at what was happening. There was also reaction to the disabled supporter’s post on the Facebook group – check out what they had to say on the next page.
