Chelmsford City player Michael Spillane is going viral after he produced a stunning goal from inside his own half as his side held on to win 3-2 at Wealdstone in the National League South at the weekend.
The spectacular moment came 27 minutes into the game as the former Norwich, Luton, Dagenham, Sutton and Lowestoft defender won the ball just outside his own penalty area, went forward, spotted Stones keeper Jonathan North off his line and lobbed him from 50 yards out.

10 minutes later, Amos Nasha double the Clarets’ lead, before Tom Wraight but them three up five minute into the second half.
Chelmsford survived a late scare however after scoring an own goal just one minute after their third goal.
Stefan Brown got Wealdstone’s second with 25 minutes left for them to produce another surprise in the game.
However, after a few chances that were saved, an equaliser couldn’t be found.
The National League South table sees Chelmsford sit 8th and Wealdstone 11th.
Spillane’s goal certainly got rave reviews from football fans on social media – some even suggested that it reminded them of a well known Premier League goal – take a look at that reaction on the next page.
