A bizarre flashpoint involving Cardiff City captain Krystian Bielik and a young Portsmouth supporter went viral following the Bluebirds’ 2-0 defeat at Fratton Park.
The incident happened in the 72nd minute after the ball went into the South Stand, with footage showing a confrontation developing between Bielik and the supporter.
The youngster then appeared to strike Bielik in the face, with play stopped while officials and staff dealt with the situation.

Portsmouth News reporter Jordan Cross also reported controversy as Bielik appeared to grab a supporter in the South Stand.
Cross said another ball was then thrown from the stand and struck Cardiff’s Perry Ng in the back of the head, before play continued following discussions between officials and staff.
Barry-Murphy reacts to Bielik incident
Cardiff boss Brian Barry-Murphy spoke about what happened after the final whistle and said his immediate concern was Bielik’s welfare.

Barry-Murphy said Bielik was OK and praised the referee and his staff for how they handled the situation.
He also said players should not expect that sort of treatment and anticipated that Cardiff and the relevant football authorities would follow the appropriate process.
Mousinho: ‘We can’t be having that’
Portsmouth boss John Mousinho also addressed the incident after the match.
Mousinho said the referee had told him Bielik went to retrieve the ball before a confrontation developed and a supporter struck the player.
He described it as a poor incident and said Portsmouth wanted to create a difficult atmosphere at Fratton Park without matters going that far.
Portsmouth launch investigation
Portsmouth issued a statement the following day after concerns were raised over what had happened.
The club said it would continue liaising with the relevant parties while the investigation progressed.

The videos quickly spread across social media, prompting debate over the actions of the player and supporter, as well as the way the situation was handled.
On the pitch, Portsmouth saw out the game to secure a 2-0 victory, but the confrontation in the South Stand became one of the major talking points afterwards.
With the matter under investigation, Portsmouth urged supporters to avoid speculation while enquiries continued.
