Viewers were left stunned last night when they watched Bradley Johnson appear to bite Joe Allen in heated scenes during Stoke City’s Championship clash with Derby County.
It came after Oghenekaro Etebo was shown a red card for a challenge on Richard Keogh in the 34th minute. Johnson then sunk his teeth into Allen’s shoulder and shirt.

Both players were given yellow cards for the scuffle, however many users on social media were left perplexed as to how Johnson didn’t get sent off also.
After the game, Allen spoke to the media, he said, as quoted by Stoke Sentinel: Allen said: “People asked me at half-time what had happened and suggested I’d been bitten but to clear it all up, that didn’t happen. He might have caught a bit of my shirt but I think we can lay that one to rest.”
Stoke, who were already one up at the time of the incident, went on to beat Derby 2-1. Sam Clucas put the Potters ahead after 24 minutes.
It wasn’t until the 50th minute that another goal was scored as Harry Wilson got an equaliser for the Rams, putting a free kick into the top corner.
14 minutes later, Tom Ince slotted home the winner after Clucas had squared the ball into the area.
The result meant Stoke climbed up to 12th and Derby drop to 7th in the Championship table.
Football fans certainly didn’t hold back their feelings after watching the incident between Bradley Johnson and Joe Allen, others also hoped that the FA would take a look at go on to ban Johnson – take a look at those tweets on the next page.
