Football fans took to Twitter to criticise Bradford City and Rochdale fans after they threw flares and missiles whilst attending their club’s fixture at Spotland Stadium on Saturday…
Some "fans" are an utter disgrace. Do they know we're in the 21st century not the 70s or 80s? Hope they're named, banned and prosecuted. They're not big or clever, but pathetic lowlife. Do those from #Bradford know the history of the club? #BCAFC #Rochdale https://t.co/mUkTDqNInE

Embarrassed by some of our fans of late. Misbehaved at Sunderland too. Yes we can blame @officiallydale for poor organisation outside the ground, but some of our fans still caused this. Time to grow up or fu% off. We don’t need fans like you….!

both fans (mainly kids) where bang out of order, but the lack of police presence was ridiculous and needs investigation as fans from both sides and club stewards where put in danger. all involved fully deseve ban’s

Whilst I don’t condone this behaviour in any way, shape or form, if there were a police presence within the ground, this could’ve been dealt with swiftly. We were categorically told by an officer outside the ground, the Police were not allowed in the ground which is ridiculous.

Think that @officiallydale should be looked into and fined due to their lack of stewarding and also lack of willing to throw out the 12 year old dale fans. Talk about saving pennys… no stewards and no ball boys, shame because it was a great away day experience #BCAFC

Many also felt that the stewards had ‘lost control’…
Stewards at Rochdale seemed completely impotent in the face of da yoof on both sides…needed a few coppers to flush the whole bloody lot of them out

The stewards lost control and even though it looked they ejected some younger Rochdale fans in the first half who were causing the trouble, they got back in. Should have called the police into the ground a lot sooner.

Cost over safety springs to my mind?
As soon as the 13/14 year old Rochdale kids started lobbing smoke bombs. Police should have been brought in?
The Stewards were useless at sorting it. It just went on and on.

Maybe Rochdale should look at their stewarding or lack of it.

The stewarding was an absolute joke. Kids being ushered back to their seats after throwing Ng multiple bottles – couldn't believe what I was seeing
