Update made on injured player after match gets abandoned on Non League Day

An update has been made on an injured player after a Northern Premier League Midlands Division match gets abandoned on Non League Day.

Shepshed Dynamo took on Belper Town, and after an exciting start, the game was stopped in 37th minute, before the referee made the call to abandon the game.

Belper wrote via their Twitter account: “Delay here due to a serious looking injury to Niemczyk. 🀞🏻 for the best news as the medical people take their time.

Eight minutes later, they added: “We await an ambulance for Niemczyk and the referee has had no choice but to abandon the match.

“We send our best wishes to Jakub for a speedy recovery.”

Shepshed said: “We would like to send our best wishes to @BelperTownFC Jakub Niemczyk and wish him a speedy recovery after today’s horrible scenes… πŸ–€πŸ€”

Artur Niemczyk @noprok7, father of Jakub, stated on Sunday morning: “I want to big thank you to the medical teams from both clubs for Jakub care suffered a leg break in yesterday’s game between @ShepshedDynamo and @BelperTownFC. Thank you all the supporters for your support for the bad time for Kuba . Thank you πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™”

Belper chairman @ian_woodward1 wrote: “Keep strong and positive Kuba lad, am sure with your loving family and the football community to support you, you will be back playing again very soon! Hope to see you soon πŸ’›πŸ–€βš½οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ”

Prior to the incident, Belper took the lead on the 6th minute, a the long throw paid off as despite another wonder save from Ganley, Alex Peterson was on hand to nod in the rebound.

In an excellent start to the match, Shepshed had responded well to going behind, forcing a couple of corners and a good save from debutant Moore.

Shepshed then levelled as Belper couldn’t clear a free kick and the ball fell to Ritzema who finished calmly.

Belper enjoyed slightly the better of things after the scoreline became 1-1, but the pace slowed down on what was a warm Leicestershire day.
