It’s been another dramatic day with two teams – one from the Premier League and another from the National League – having relegation confirmed this afternoon.
The first of the two teams to have that dreaded ‘R’ placed next to their name in the league table was Huddersfield Town from the Premier League.

The Terriers knew they were to be relegated if they lost against Crystal Palace, Burnley beat Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Southampton beat Brighton & Hove Albion, all of which happened.
They join join Derby County and Ipswich Town as the only teams in Premier League history to be relegated with six games left to play.
Another team having relegation confirmed was Braintree Town in the National League despite beating Gateshead. They became the first team from the division to go down as Boreham Wood beat Barrow and Dover Athletic got at least a point against Solihull Moors. Braintree don’t however sit bottom of the table.
Maidstone United fill that spot but have played a game less than those above them. They could have been down too if they lost against Harrogate Town, Boreham Wood beat Barrow, Dover Athletic beat Solihull Moors, Maidenhead United get at least a point against Halifax Town, and Dagenham & Redbridge get at least a point against Chesterfield.
There also could have been two teams win their leagues today, Hayes & Yeading United and Cray Wanderers, however that didn’t end up happening.
Social media users took to Twitter to react on the relegations for both Huddersfield Town and Braintree Town – find out what they had to say on the next page.
