A Twitter user has been slammed after accusing Jobe Bellingham of ‘overdramatising’ a playoff win earlier this summer.
The 58 second clip was posted onto Twitter, getting over 6 million views and counting, but also thousands of mixed replies.
It comes from when Sunderland beat Sheffield United in the Championship playoff final, with the Black Cats winning a place in the Premier League.
@jobescollective wrote: “jobe the moment the fulltime whistle blew 🥹🤍”
With it then re-posted by @MusialaEra, saying: “Overdramatizing everything for PR like his brother I already hate Jobe Bellingham.”

Earlier this week, Jobe Bellingham posted a farewell message to Sunderland fans as he leaves for Borussia Dortmund. You can read more on that HERE.
As mentioned, a Twitter user has been slammed after accusing Jobe Bellingham of ‘overdramatising’ the playoff final win…
@jake_const15: I don’t like Sunderland I do think Jobe is living off his brother’s name, but they had just won promotion with the last kick of the season in the richest game in football for fuck sake! What do you expect him to do? Politely clap and walk off the pitch without being emotional?
@ArkitectOfChaos: Yeah God forbid celebrating after a 95th minute winner in a play-off final securing Sunderland a place back in the Prem. Bayernliga fans could never understand that underdog feeling.
@StreetwiseStu79: Hating peole isn’t a good quality to have. Just saying. Chances are he’s not one bit bothered about your hatred towards him. Use your energy in a more positive manner, things will start to feel good for you. Less hate and anger is what’s needed 🤝❤️
@razthechzn: You lots are just sad and envious and it’s pathetic. Gfb a guy is just happy
@footpollsdaily: Over dramatized? Are you joking! They qualify for premier league which means their team made over €200m just for promotion. This is bigger then World Cup for some
@_Roofman2131gh: 🤣🤣🤣 u guys sit home and hate on pros playing football and making money and career for themselves 🤦🏿♂️ is funny as hell
@Xpenscve: I’m convinced some of you have fundamental problems at home and it’s not even a joke. Did you expect him to not celebrate the victory?
@secondtierpod: Apparently it’s “overdramatising” to react like this after winning promotion in the play-off final with a 95th-minute winner 🙄🤦♂️
@FulwelI: You can always tell the ‘fans’ who glory support foreign teams because they just can’t relate to the passion a player can have for a football club 😂😂
@Premierseafoods: We really have peaked the “why celebrate, it’s only…” phenomenon. Not sure who started this all off. Every single goal, bar obvious consolation ones, should be celebrated like mad let alone final wins and promotions. Why not? Some right misery guts out there nowadays.
@Handrew_900: “I already hate Jobe Bellingham”… He’s a kid who has done nothing wrong here but celebrate a promotion in one of the biggest games of the global calendar.
@JoeMilord: So much of what you see on Twitter these days is fans hating on athletes or finding something to bitch about instead of just enjoying the sports
@w24holden: Funny how the people that rate Jobe highly are Sunderland fans who have watched him play week in week out for two seasons and the ones that hate on him likely never watched him play more than twice at best. 🥴
@DanRodenby: Criticising a 19-year-old for celebrating a promotion win at Wembley is mental enough. Factor in he had a move to Dortmund lined up whatever happened in that play-off final. Fair play to him, gave everything to Sunderland before he moved on to a CL club.
@tenchylad: Some people just have natural jealousy and hatered in their bones, unfortunately. Sport is about emotion and passion. Take that away and its nothing.
@JamieArm2003: They should have seen me if they thought he over reacted
@airz1879: Funny how all these comments are coming from people that aren’t Sunderland fans we’ve all said goodbye good luck and all the best wishes 🤔would we’ve liked to see what he could do in the premier yes but let’s be realistic he’s got the chance for champions league football
@DanksyCd: Any other player and people would have nothing to say but as it’s a Bellingham they all want to tear then apart . They were bang out of form leading up to the game and nicked it on 95 mins not sure how it’s a overreaction
@ArqBCFC: Don’t think this is even bait. Glory hunting fans that support big clubs will never grasp how truly incredibly promotion to the first tier really is especially through a last minute winner in the playoff finals. Its pure elation
