Tuesday 17 December 2019

Each winning club will receive £54,000 from The FA prize fund while the FA live broadcast fee is £36,000 per club.

Plenty of attention will turn to Boston United who currently play in the National League North and are playing their final season at York Street, which has been their home since 1933.

They are set to move to the Quadrant at nearby Wyberton, and whilst respecting Rochdale, really hope to book a place against Newcastle United in the third round, to give the ground a cracking send off.

Manager Craig Elliott said: “It is a massive incentive. We could not have asked for a better draw against a Premier League team at home. It is what you dream about and obviously it’s going to be something exciting if we manage to get through.

“We are firmly focused on the challenge ahead of playing Rochdale and they are a fantastic team who are well-coached and well-managed and it is going to be a hard game.

“We have got a chance and that’s all you want in the FA Cup.

“When you get to these stages, you want one of the big boys and Newcastle United are obviously a big club and it’s an absolutely great draw.”

“We need all the fans to come out and support us,” said Elliott. “This is what they have been dreaming about. We all know it’s our last season at York Street and we need every single fan to come and buy into it. We need that atmosphere generated at home.”
