Trevor Sinclair has been forced to apologise after he posted a tweet that has gone on to cause outrage with Liverpool fans following Man City’s win over Burnley on Tuesday evening.
The former Man City winger was called out by Reds supporters for his strange post on Twitter, which read: “Bin dippers we’re coming for you.”

It came minutes after Pep Guardiola’s side’s won 4-1 at Turf Moor, seeing them close the points gap to just eight of league leaders Liverpool.
The post which has been since deleted was followed up 19 minutes later with a tweet which said: “So sensitive…calm down you’re still 8 points ahead”.

On Wednesday morning, Sinclair realised how big his tweets had blown up on social media, so took the wise decision to offer an apology to any fan who had been offended by the message.
“To any fan that was offended by what I wrote last night I apologize,” the 46-year-old wrote. “It was a throw away line regarding closing the gap.
“It wasn’t my intention to offend anyone, especially from a social stance. I’m a working class lad and understand how it’s been taken. Sorry”
