• Livingston have accepted a club-record fee from an English Championship club for Lyndon Dykes and say the striker will be “sorely missed”. Queens Park Rangers have reportedly made £2m bid for the player, who was left out of Sunday’s draw with Rangers.
• According to sources in Bulgaria, Coventry City are interested in signing former Plymouth Argyle star Graham Carey. The attacking midfielder 4 goals in 26 games for CSKA Sofia since 2019.
• Brentford are expected to complete the signing of versatile Amiens forward Saman Ghoddos in the coming weeks as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
• Derby County and Huddersfield Town are targeting Stoke City striker Lee Gregory, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
• Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes has been linked with a shock return to Ipswich Town. However, the Owls are said to be unwilling to sell, with the new season starting in less than a month. (Football League World)
• Despite national media reports linking Preston North End with a move for Charlton ace Macauley Bonne, it is understood that the striker isn’t “on their radar”, which will be a boost to Derby County. (LEP)
• Barnsley are said to be closing on a move for FC Dallas defender Reggie Cannon, who has been capped on 11 occasions for the USA senior side, after making his debut in 2018. (MLS)
• Fulham have been named the 2/1 favourites to land ex-Bournemouth star Ryan Fraser, who is on the hunt for a new club after leaving the Cherries following their relegation to the Championship. (Oddschecker)
• Middlesbrough and Bristol City are set to go head-to-head to land Wigan Athletic midfielder Joe Williams. The 23-year-old began his career at Everton, and has been capped at youth level for England. Leeds United and West Brom have also turned their attention to Williams, Football Insider reveal.
• Former Manchester United left-back Demetri Mitchell has been training with Sunderland but the Black Cats face competition from Luton Town.
• Former Stoke City youth striker Josh Gordon is being linked with three Championship clubs. The Daily Mail claim that he is rated at £250,000 and Millwall, Preston and Barnsley are all monitoring the 25 year old Walsall striker who began his career with City.
• Reputable journalist Alan Nixon has poured cold water on suggestions that QPR are keen on signing Ipswich Town midfielder Alan Judge.
• Birmingham City could soon find themselves in a position to launch a pursuit for Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
• Birmingham and West Brom are said to be in the race to sign 15-year-old Nigerian defender Paul Ibahadon. He is tipped for big things, and was on his way to Aston Villa earlier this year but saw his dream move collapse due to clearance issues.
• According to various reports, Preston North End think they can land Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis on loan.
• According to The Mirror, Newcastle United are plotting a part-exchange deal with Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle to land Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.
• According to the Daily Mail, Leicester City are considering a move for Preston North End’s Ben Davies, a key player for Alex Neil’s side after making 36 Championship appearances in 2019-20.
• Sheffield United and Burnley have both been linked with a move to sign Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall. Burnley are said to be interested in a swap deal that would see Ben Gibson leave Turf Moor and return to the Championship.
• Newly-promoted Northampton Town are targetting the signing of Fleetwood midfielder Jack Sowerby, according to reports.
• There’s no guarantee Portsmouth will look to fill the void left by Christian Burgess in the centre of their defence. With Kenny Jackett admitting the three specialists centre-halves plus the likes of James Bolton and Tom Naylor might be enough for the season ahead.
• Aston Villa consider late move to hijack Sheffield United’s move for Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
• Promising Celtic youngster Lee O’Connor is set to make a loan move to Tranmere Rovers. The former Manchester United player signed for Celtic last summer and has been on loan at Partick Thistle in the second half of last season. However he appears to be on the verge of a move.
• Hull City’s chances of signing Tyler Walker from Nottingham Forest this summer may have been boosted following the arrival of Lyle Taylor to the City Ground. (Various)
• Leeds United are considering loaning Leif Davis out for the coming season, Stoke City and Portsmouth are keen on the 20-year-old.
• Sunderland are ‘very keen’ on Remi Matthews but face competition from Ipswich. Phill Parkinson turned to him after the Matija Sarkic loan deal from Wolves stalled. (The Sun)
• Shrewsbury Town will not be rekindling their interest in Will Grigg. Manager Sam Ricketts, has hinted the new League One salary cap will make it extremely difficult for Sunderland to offload the striker. (Various)
• Doncaster Rovers set to sign Kidderminster Harriers’ former Cheltenham Town and Gloucester City midfielder Ed Williams, 25.
• Grant McCann has said Hull City have received ‘two or three’ bids for their players, unnamed, as per his interview with BBC Radio Humberside. Jordy de Wijs, 25, has been linked with a move to MLS side LA Galaxy but as of yet they have not been able to advance in their pursuit. Leonardo da Silva Lopes was the subject of a rejected bid by New York Red Bulls in January and is likely be to be targeted this summer. Reece Burke is another who may potentially leave considering the interest from clubs in leagues higher up.
• Coventry City are still in talks with Arsenal over a deal to sign highly-rated ex-Doncaster Rovers loanee midfielder Ben Sheaf. (Various)
• Peterborough United have been issued a ‘warning’ over their asking price for Celtic target Ivan Toney. Asked by Football Insider whether £9m is a fair price for the former Newcastle forward, Bruce said: “Peterborough have got to be a bit careful that they don’t price him out of the market with those figures.
• According to The News, striker Oli Hawkins is set to join Ipswich Town after his release from Portsmouth.
• South Africa international Dean Furman is understood to be the latest trialist bidding to impress Carlisle United boss Chris Beech. The experienced former Oldham and Doncaster player is believed to be spotted training with the Cumbrians last week.
• Sheffield United and Burnley could also battle it out for Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien with a £7m fee touted. (The Sun)
