• Hull City and Peterborough United are leading the chase to sign highly-rated Nottingham Forest striker Tyler Walker, according to reports. The 23-year-old netted 17 goals in all competitions for Lincoln City last season while on loan at Sincil Bank, but as he is entering the final year of his contract he is expected to leave the City Ground.

• Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has revealed that he has heard nothing concrete from Leeds United, who are claimed to be keen on left-back Borna Barisic.

• Aston Villa and Watford have ‘tested the waters’ for Hellas Verona’s Fabio Borini – with the versatile forward’s contract up very soon.

• Crystal Palace are frontrunners to sign the Premier League’s fourth most creative player of last season, Norwich’s £20m rated Buendia, with Leeds and Aston Villa also in contention.

• Brentford striker Ollie Watkins would prefer to join Aston Villa over Crystal Palace and Sheffield United as he wants to work again with his former manager Dean Smith, according to Sky Sports News.

• Leeds United transfer target Matty Longstaff has still not made a decision over his future despite holding further talks with Newcastle United, according to The Athletic.

• Leeds United are one of the clubs in the race for Brazilian defender Lyanco, according to claims on Tuesday. Sporting made an approach for the defender, but seem to be unable to take him away from Torino.

• Middlesbrough and Luton Town are eyeing moves for Ipswich Town winger Gwion Edwards.

Turkish website Sporx claim West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Cenk Tosun from Everton. The Baggies have an edge over Fenerbahce and Besiktas who are also said to be interested in signing the 29 year old and Sporx report Everton want to sell the player for around €8-10m. 

• Fulham are considering a move for Arsenal’s 25-year-old defender Calum Chambers, with the Englishman expected to cost about £12m. (Sun)

• Huddersfield are in advanced talks to sign Cardiff’s out-of-contract striker Danny Ward.

• Hull City are reportedly interested in signing Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty on a permanent deal – the 23-year-old has fallen down the pecking order in Steven Gerrard’s side. (Daily Record)

• Middlesbrough are said to have returned to Northampton Town with an improved offer for Charlie Goode – after a bid their first bid, said to be in the region of £500,000, was rejected. Queens Park Rangers were willing to pay £500k for Goode but Northampton Town are looking for a higher fee.

• Sydney FC striker Adam Le Fondre has said that he is focused on the task at hand with the A-League side, despite interest from Sunderland and Portsmouth. (Daily Telegraph)

• Sunderland and Fleetwood Town want free agent ex-Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan. The 27-year-old is available after being released by Rangers at the end of last season and is weighing up his next move. (Football Insider)

• Doncaster Rovers chief executive Gavin Baldwin has said that the club have already turned down offers for midfielder Ben Whiteman. The midfielder was linked with Wigan Athletic last summer. (Doncaster Free Press)

• Celtic are set to lose out in the race to sign Ivan Toney after having a bid worth up to £3million rejected by Peterborough United. (Football Insider)

• Posh co-owner Darragh MacAnthony made the revelation in the latest edition of his ‘Hard Truth’ podcast. Toney was given permission to speak to the unnamed club, but as yet nothing has been finalised. Celtic, Rangers, Brighton, Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Derby are among the clubs linked with Toney.

• Hull City and Shrewsbury Town are plotting a move to sign Rangers’ Greg Docherty according to a report from the Daily Record.
