• Arsenal are ready to up their bid for Brentford keeper David Raya. The Gunners will go as high as £10million for the Spaniard, who would be Bernd Leno’s back-up.
• Leicester City have been that told David Brooks transfer will cost £50m with Man Utd and Tottenham also eyeing the Bournemouth star.
• Sunderland have beaten a host of clubs to Hartlepool starlet Josh Hawkes, TEAMtalk reveal. The 21-year-old has been on the radar of Leeds, Newcastle and Middlesbrough, but Sunderland have now agreed terms.
• They have an impressive squad now, but eight Watford players still could be set to depart before the window closes. Of the 33 players they have right now, Adalberto Penaranda, Isaac Success, Jerome Sinclair, Ken Sema, Daryl Janmaat, Etienne Capoue, Roberto Pereyra and Ignacio Pussetto could depart to free up that wage bill.
• According to a report by the Daily Mail, Sheffield Wednesday are to hold talks with West Bromwich Albion striker Kenneth Zohore over a loan move to the Owls. Derby have been tipped to make a move for him.
• Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Alfa Semedo is reportedly not a target for Preston North End. Portuguese newspaper Record claim that an agreement is close to going through between Semedo’s club Benfica and Preston for a season-long loan deal. However, according to a report in Lancs Live, the Lilywhites are not interested in bringing in the 23-year-old.
• Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter has been linked with a shock move to Turkish club Besiktas. According to The Sun, Besiktas, as well as fellow Turkish duo Ankaragucu and Denizlispor, are interested in signing the midfielder on a permanent deal.
• Liverpool are planning to hold off on a bid for Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr until the January transfer window, a report from Football Insider has claimed.
• Gillingham are hoping to sign ex-Celtic winger Calvin Miller following his Parkhead departure. He’s already been on trial with Plymouth, and has interest in him overseas in the MLS.
• Southend United are in talks to sign former Barnet striker Simeon Akinola, Echosport understands. The 28-year-old, who can also play out wide, is wanted by the Shrimpers following the departure of Stephen Humphrys.
• According to The Sun, Tottenham are now looking into a move for Bournemouth striker Josh King after missing out on Ollie Watkins to Aston Villa. The Cherries are open to selling the Norwegian international after getting relegated last term and with only nine months left on his deal, and he isn’t short of suitors in the Premier League, with Aston Villa, Fulham and Everton all keen.
• Blackburn. Bid 200k for keeper Pears at Middlesbrough. Mowbray back to old club for extra competition. Boro want more.
• Leeds. To clear Jordan Stevens for exit to Swindon on loan his week. Also due to decide on Robbie Gotts. Hull now back in as well as Huddersfield.
• Bradford. To take a look at young Palace striker John-Kymani Gordon on loan. Top prospect.
• Brentford. Looking at keeper Phillips at Charlton as poss Raya replacement. Also have foreign options.
• Bournemouth. Turkish side Ankaragucu keen on midfielder Dan Gosling. Last year of contract.
• Rochdale. Keen on midfielder Scott Banks at Palace on loan. Top young Scottish lad.
• Sheff U. Had meetings with Brewster team. Liverpool will sell if offer is right. Need cash and space to bid for Sarr at Watford. Game on after Brewster out of squad too. Palace and Villa still active if price is ok. Bidding due to commence. Loans don’t really work at this stage.
• Bournemouth. Josh King could be off if price is right. On Spurs short list. Fulham thinking about it. Villa kind of. Player clearly wants Premier return.
• Said Benrahma is set to join Crystal Palace as the Eagles win a £20m race for the Brentford forward, according to Alan Nixon.
