• Derby County, Watford and Bournemouth have been linked with a move for former Reading defender Jordan Obita.
• Watford are interested in signing Dominic Iorfa from Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday in the summer transfer window, according to The Independent. Any swoop from the Hornets, however, may depend upon outgoings at Vicarage Road before the transfer deadline.
• Sheffield Wednesday boss Garry Monk wouldn’t be drawn on speculation linking him with a move for Cardiff City player Callum Patterson.
• Weston-super-Mare starlet Ryan Jones is being lined up for a move to the Premier League, with dozens of scouts watching him in recent weeks. Bristol City, Bristol Rovers and many more set to miss out.
• Stoke City defender Josh Tymon has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Italian side Brescia according to Bresciaoggi.
• Newspaper A Bola claims Reading ‘could be the destination’ for the Benfica 23-year-old Alfa Semedo, and are currently ‘waiting’ for him. O Jogo claimed Reading were pending authorisation from the FA to get the player on a loan deal.
• Speaking to Fleetwood Today, Fleetwood Town boss Joey Barton has revealed that Blackburn Rovers defender Charlie Mulgrew wants to make a move to the League One club.
• Greek website Sdna report Olympiacos are interested in signing Aston Villa attacker Anwar El Ghazi. A loan move is the likeliest option at this stage and they also note El Ghazi is represented by Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute, who have been working closely with Olympiacos in the last few years. Nottingham Forest also in the mix for him.
• Blackburn Rovers are in the hunt for more signings before the end of the transfer window, as per a report by the Lancashire Telegraph. Tony Mowbray’s side have held talks with potential acquisitions over recent days.
• Swansea City manager Steve Cooper has made it clear that he wants Joe Rodon to stay after West Ham United were linked with the Wales international, when speaking to Wales Online.
• AFC Wimbledon could loan out striker Zach Robinson again, as per a report by London News Online. They are mulling over whether to let him leave before the end of the transfer window. The 18 year old scored for Glyn Hodges’ side in their 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion Under-21’s on Tuesday night.
• Lee Bowyer says that Charlton Athletic’s transfer embargo is lifted now that Thomas Sandgaard has been confirmed as the club’s new owner and the Addicks manager says he is looking to bring in at least two signings before Sunday’s League One game against Lincoln City. Ben Watson was the first to be confirmed.
• Speaking to Wigan Today, Wigan Athletic boss John Sheridan has confirmed the club’s interest in signing Swindon Town midfielder Matty Palmer. “I like him, I’ve asked about him. He did really well for me at Oldham, I’ve always really liked him as a player. “We made an enquiry to Swindon, and if he was available – and financially it suited us – we’d be interested.”
• ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham’s interest in signing Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland is dead for the moment, suggesting that David Moyes has no need to sign a new goalkeeper as things stand.
• New Charlton owner Thomas Sandgaard says the club will no longer sell their academy products on the cheap. Celtic are interested in Alfie Doughty and, while he will listen to offers, Sandgaard has told Sky Sports News he will only sell him if it “financially makes sense”.
• Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has suggested to Leeds Live that Robbie Gotts could go out on loan in the summer transfer window. Hull and Huddersfield keen.
