• Birmingham City are close to signing Tottenham Hotspur winger Jack Clarke. (via Birmingham Live)

• Reading are ‘optimistic’ over a deal for Atlético Madrid youngster Rodrigo Riquelme, but the Spanish side need to finalise a contract extension before letting him go. Player currently staying at the Madejski Stadium Hotel.

• Barnsley have seen a €3m bid to sign Dinamo Zagreb forward Sandro Kulenović turned down by the player.

• Watford striker Troy Deeney has attracted interest from Turkish giants Fenerbahce, according to The Athletic. West Brom, Tottenham and Burnley have also been linked.

• Leeds United have tabled a six-figure bid for reported Derby County target Haydon Roberts. Football insider claim the Whites are keen on the Brighton centre-back who was recently linked to the Rams by the Telegraph.

• Kevin Blackwell has confirmed Middlesbrough’s interest in Chuba Akpom, and admitted the club need “at least two or three more players” before the transfer window closes next month.

• The Athletic report that Dion Sanderson is not in Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans at Wolves, and was left out of the under-23 squad again for their clash against Leeds in the Premier League 2 on Friday. Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff are reportedly keen.

• According to The Scottish Sun, Steven Gerrard’s Rangers have ‘made it clear they will not be hard to deal with’ over the 25-year-old Jordan Jones, and will allow him to leave for less than £1 million. Jones has been linked with moves to Queens Park Rangers, Preston North End, Stoke City, Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough, whose academy he came through, after falling out of favour at Rangers.

• Brentford are set to complete the signing of Amiens forward Saman Ghoddos, according to Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas.

• Stoke’s Michael O’Neill is reportedly in talks with Kieran Freeman, the 28-year-old right-back who left Sheffield United at the end of last season.

• Barnsley head coach Gerhard Struber has confirmed that one or two clubs have got in touch about signing former Barnsley captain Mike Bahre – who has been told that he has no future at Oakwell.

• Arsenal, Leeds and Wolves are all keen on 18-year-old Reading midfielder Michael Olise. (Football League World)

• According to a report from the Lancashire Telegraph, QPR’s Ryan Manning is attracting interest from fellow Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

• Crystal Palace – as well as Sheffield United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton and Brentford – are interested in a move for Arsenal centre-forward Folarin Balogun.

• Norwich City are ‘likely’ to loan out 20 year old left-back Sam McCallum, as per a report by The Athletic.

• According to a report from Dutch news outlet Voetbal International, Ajax midfielder Carel Eiting is set to turn down a host of European sides to join Huddersfield Town on loan.

• Kenny Jackett believes Pompey’s remaining business in the transfer window will be ‘minimal’. Jackett still wants a left-footed centre-back, while he could also add fire-power to his striking department.

• Michael O’Neill has made it clear that he was not actively looking to send any of his younger players out on loan, with 21-year-old Harry Souttar, linked wiht Portsmouth, included in that bracket.
