Tottenham pair criticised for jogging side-by-side together in London

Tottenham pair Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon have been criticised for jogging side-by-side together in London, despite social distancing warnings.

Jose Mourinho’s backroom staff have been putting the players through their paces individually via video link training sessions from the comfort of their own homes.

However, a passerby uploaded footage online of the duo running alongside each other near to Hadley Common in North London.

Spurs and all other football clubs have been placed on lockdown along with the rest of the country in order to try and halt the infection rate escalating, with footballers told to train at home and alone.

Members of the public are advised to keeping a gap of two metres, as it’s described as one of the most effective methods to tackle the outbreak of Covid-19.

According to experts, this practice will help to slow down the spread of the deadly coronavirus bug.

Right-back Serge Aurier was also spotted in footage posted on an Instagram story wearing a makeshift face mask and blue gloves during his outdoor run.

A spokesman for the Premier League club said: “All of our players have been reminded to respect social distancing when exercising outdoors.

“We shall continue to reinforce this message.”

In the UK alone, the death toll has now broken the 6,000-barrier after 758 deaths were recorded in England alone on Monday on the deadliest day so far.

NHS England confirmed the latest victims were aged between 23 and 102 – with the 23-year-old having no underlying health conditions.
