Tottenham Hotspur have this week made not just one embarrassing blunder by sacking Mauricio Pochettino, but a second after a mistake was spotted in a birthday card sent to their supporters.
Children and adults were left surprised after receiving the gift from the club, however Spurs accidentally contained a message from the recently sacked manager.
Tottenham wrote a Twitter post: “We can now confirm the appointments of Joao Sacramento, Carlos Lalin, Nuno Santos, Ricardo Formosinho and Giovanni Cerra as part of Jose Mourinho’s coaching staff.”
Then fan Chris Parvin said to the club on Twitter: “Do I get a new birthday card or…”
The message inside the card read: “Happy Birthday! Best wishes from everyone here at the club.”
But it was signed by ‘manager’ Pochettino, as well as club captain Hugo Lloris, and vice captains Harry Kane and Jan Vertonghen.

The awkward mistake was of course innocent from the club, considering the cards would have been sent the cards out before to Pochettino’s dismissal.
It’s suggested that they will send new ones with Mourinho’s signature replacing that of his predecessor.
Talking of Pochettino, he has already been listed as a contender for the manager’s job at Bayern Munich.
