Thomas Tuchel names England squad with new additions for Andorra and Senegal games

Thomas Tuchel names England squad with new additions for upcoming games against Andorra and Senegal which take place next month.

A strong Three Lions side will face the European minnows away for a World Cup qualifier on Saturday, June 7th, before hosting Senegal in a friendly the following Tuesday.

Tuchel got his reign off to a winning start back in March with wins over Albania and Latvia.

He’s unable to make deals with clubs despite a heavily congested end of season schedule, Tuchel not offering any guarantees to Premier League managers on workload as he wants to work with as many players as possible, for as long as possible.

Tuchel stressed that he has got a total of just 60 days and 24 sessions with his squad before the 2026 World Cup gets underway.

Here’s what the schedule looks like between now and the beginning of the 2025/26 season…

25 May: Final Premier League games

28 May: Conference League final: Chelsea v Real Betis

31 May: Champions League final: PSG v Inter Milan

4-10 June: Six-day England camp including games on 7 June and 10 June

11-28 June: U21 European Championship

15 June -13 July: Club World Cup, including Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, plus others

15 June: Bayern play first Club World Cup game

16 June: Chelsea play first game

18 June: Man City & Real Madrid play first games

Mid-July: Pre-season matches begin, including overseas tours

9 August: Community Shield

13 August: Uefa Super Cup: Tottenham v Champions League winners

16 August: Start of 2025-26 Premier League season

LATEST ENGLAND SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT:

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Dan Burn (Newcastle United), Trevoh Chalobah (Chelsea), Levi Colwill (Chelsea), Reece James (Chelsea), Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa), Myles Lewis-Skelly (Arsenal), Kyle Walker (AC Milan, loan from Manchester City)

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Conor Gallagher (Atletico Madrid), Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest), Jordan Henderson (Ajax), Curtis Jones (Liverpool), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Declan Rice (Arsenal), Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa)

Forwards: Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Noni Madueke (Chelsea), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Ivan Toney (Al-Ahli), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa)

Tuchel said back in March that he would prioritise England objectives during international windows.

“We do what’s good for us. We are in contact with the clubs, we are in high-level monitoring where the statuses are known and we won’t take any unprofessional risks. Because first of all I feel responsible for the players. I don’t want the player to be injured.

“So this is where it is and in the end we take care of ourselves and the clubs take care of themselves, and the main focus is taking care of the players.

“I always accepted it as a club manager. I never got involved in line-ups. I never pushed any national coach because I was hoping that my players get picked.”

Here’s how fans reacted as Thomas Tuchel names his England squad with new additions for the games against Andorra and Senegal…

@oxfjack: Walker, Chalobah, Gallagher, Jones, Henderson, Gordon, Madueke, and Toney shouldn’t be anywhere near this

@gazmo71: Not sure what Livramento has to do to get into the squad too, hes been fantastic of late and has the flexibility of being able to play either side

@_stonyd: How is Livramento not in the squad?? He’s the best fullback in the PL right now

@lc_curry: And Walker over Tino Liveramento who has been playing out of position also to a very high standard. It’s not just NUFC bias… But Tuchels reverting to the usual England Manager bollocks of picking his favourites not those in form

@BobbyC_1878: Where is Bowen, Wharton and Branthwaite all been superb this season, this is why England will never win anything another manager who picks who he likes not players based on merit. Absolutly garbage squad

@zekiv6: Decent squad but Walker, Henderson, Madueke should be nowhere near

@MaseTMT: How is Bowen not in the squad? I’m not even a West Ham fan. Strange decision unless it’s down to other non football reasons

@Chris78901: Just can’t get my head around how players who either made the last camp & didn’t play or didn’t make it at all have been left with the impression they need to move clubs to get picked, yet he’s called up Ivan Toney for statpadding in Saudi. Bizarre. Pleased for MGW in any case

@TheLawless: Madueke over Bowen? Toney & Henderson called up? Tuchel really is an idiot 😂

@ChrisSteele90: No Tino Livramento or Jacob Murphy? I’d even put Harvey Barnes in ahead of Anthony Gordon.

@Lazy_Shit_: Not even being biased. Absolutely mental how Bowen isn’t there. He offers something different to all of those forwards.

@JordanHarley67: The fact he’s omitted jarrod bowen is absolutely disgusting. Need to start putting respect on that mans name 🤬🤬

@brooksy2901: Bowen with 19 G/A misses out btw.
