Thomas Tuchel names his latest England squad for upcoming games against Spain, Croatia and Czechia in an extended international break.
The Three Lions gets set for a change to the traditional international football calendar this autumn, with four games to be played between the 21st of September and the 6th of October.
England will host their Nations League opener against World cup winners Spain on the 26th at a sold out Wembley, before ending September with a trip to Czechia on the 29th.
The October begins with England playing in Croatia on the 3rd, and then the return fixture against Czechia on the 6th.

England boss Thomas Tuchel on Palmer and Alexander-Arnold, as per Sky Sports:
“They had a good start to the season. They did never something wrong, we just chose different players. Now is a new competition.
“Cole has his numbers back. Assists, decisive goals. I think he has a point to prove.
“The same goes for Trent. He was never non-selectable. Now is his chance to show, come to camp, be the best version of himself. He comes as a right-back for us.”
On Alexander-Arnold: “He needs to perform; it’s a competition. He was not with us at the World Cup; we trusted other players, and I stick with that decision. It’s now time to fight for his place. He always said he’s up for the fight. It’s now up to him to prove. We have a long camp and I’m sure he’ll show up.”
On World Cup squad continuation plans being disrupted: “The door is always open through performance and then behaviour, commitment to the team spirit because we built something very special.
“I thought we’d have more of a continuation of the World Cup squad but a lot of that squad can’t be with us due to injuries. So new players will step up. These players were crucial for us building the brotherhood and mentality that took us a long way on the tournament. We will not compromise on that.
“Other players will step up and get a lot of minutes. My mindset is not to change too much in the formations within the matches if possible. We will not overload them.
“The door is always open to impress and take the place.”
On beating strongest squad France, and closing the gap to Spain: “It’s an amazing start to the Nations League campaign. We’ve had some fantastic results. An immaculate qualifying campaign. Ten matches in the US, eight victories, one draw and one loss which hurt a lot and still does.
“This cycle of 10 matches is something we want to repeat. The target is to go all the way in the Nations League – if we go all the way we have another 10 matches.
“It feels we started the next cycle against France. The way we played it and won it against maybe the strongest squad in the world, a very impressive win, I think that directs the narrative for what’s coming.
“Spain, the reigning world champions – we feel the gap is closing. The motivation cannot be higher.”
On Ben White pulled out: “Ben pulled out with an injury. He had a fantastic start with Arsenal to the season.
“He’s back to his very best as a pair with Bukayo Saka on the right-hand side, which could be very valuable for us.
“But he was unfortunately not available for the World Cup, and it is unfortunately a bit of the story with Ben that in the decisive moments when we do the call-ups, he’s not available.”

Reflecting on the 2026 World Cup, Tuchel said, as per englandfootball.com: “It was important to be together and stay together as a whole staff, a whole group of people. We started this journey together, we ended it together.
“The moment to receive a medal is very different than in club football. It just matters that you bring something home.
“I’m the first one to admit that we didn’t achieve it – we wanted to have a second star – but still, it was a top end to a brilliant campaign.”
On beating Mexico at the Azteca: “This was maybe my moment of the World Cup – the hug with my coaches right after the whistle. This game had so much that you just could wish for.
“They just didn’t give in. They refused to give in, no matter what, with a lot of adversity – altitude, home country, a stadium where no one can win a World Cup match, a man down, a VAR decision against us with a penalty.”
On support from England fans: “They lived up to the high expectations.
“Everyone told me, ‘Wait until the tournament starts. We will have the best fans. We will be right on top. It will be amazing, the amount of people.’ It was just like that.
“From the first moment, I think they just felt this team. They could sense that this team is together and this team means it. That’s what made the connection so strong. That was not artificial – that was very, very special.”
Looking ahead, Tuchel added: “These players will come back hungry, starting with a match against the reigning world champions.
“We just beat France, we have the chance to beat Spain straight away at home. Perfect start. Perfect rehearsal for us for the EUROs.
“That is something to build on. We have all the right to hold our heads high and go with courage and positivity into the next challenges.”
