The National League criticised by fans after announcing new betting partner

The National League have been getting criticised after they put out an announcement on social media about their new betting partner.

The partnership will come into play onwards from the National League Promotion Final at Wembley on Saturday 11th May and through the 2019/20 season.

Fans however have been left angry at this with one suggesting to the league that it was “very contradictory to the ethics you preach to players and staff of football clubs in your league.”

CEO of The National League, Michael Tattersall, said in the league statement: “We are delighted to have LVBET on board for the Vanarama National League Promotion Final and the 2019/20 campaign.

“LVBET will be a new sponsor of our showpiece Promotion Final at Wembley and will help support the growth of The National League whilst promoting responsible gambling”.

Adrian Sidowski, CEO of LVBET added: “We’re thrilled to launch a partnership with The National League ahead of this season’s Promotion Final on May 11th.

“With 68 teams across three divisions, we’re excited to share our product by providing promotions to all fans and creating content to share digitally”.

We have rounded up all the reaction including the majority of anger towards it – find out what was tweeted on the next page.
