The FA make a big decision on the National League, confirming that they have allowed the playoffs to go ahead when safe to do so.
Journalist and radio presenter Ollie Bayliss confirmed the news: “The FA has granted the National League an extension to their season.
“It means the National League can hold playoffs beyond the end of May deadline.
“Following a meeting last Thursday, FA Council members had been asked to vote on the proposal.
“This decision keeps the prospect of National League playoffs on the table but doesn’t mean they will definitely happen.
“The National League still hasn’t offered clubs a vote on how to end the season.
“Possible solutions could exclude playoffs or make the season null & void.”
Fans reacted after finding out that the FA make a big decision on the National League playoffs…
Need a date for the playoffs now. All clubs not involved in the mix have released everyone and saved wages. We can’t do that yet

And think of all the players who are out of contract from Monday, given that non-league clubs tend to offer one or two season contracts at best

Great news!

We have yes. We have done it on the basis that there will be no more league matches.
If play off games go ahead, it would be unlikely we would have taken part.— statto_smfc (@SmfcStatto) May 27, 2020
This include North and South too?

Not a surprise, the FA Council clearly wants to give the league management committees a high degree of autonomy during this crisis. League requests or decisions will, therefore, almost certainly be ratified by FA Council (provided those decisions aren’t completely irrational).

Players are out of contract. Just relegate the bottom four from National, promote top two from the regionals. Use PPG or weighted PPG, seeing as there’s no relegation from the regionals into the pub leagues. It’s dead straight forward.
