The 2018/19 Premier League title winners are crowned

A dramatic afternoon with twists and turns saw Manchester City end up crowned the champions of the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola’s men retain the title as they won 4-1 at Brighton, the manager becomes the third manager in the division to do so, the other two were Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

Liverpool were top of the league on the 17th minute mark as they took the lead against Wolves thanks to Saido Mane, who slammed the ball past Rui Patricio from six yards out, at the time City were drawing 0-0.

Things got better for the Reds, when Glenn Murray gave Brighton the lead from a corner, though before that even happened, a roar was heard inside Anfield with many suggesting Wolves supporters started up the fake Brighton goal celebrations, setting off the rest of the stadium.

The Seagulls’ were only in front for a minute though as Sergio Aguero scored an instant equaliser, score now 1-1 with City still a point behind leaders Liverpool.

Whilst Wolves upped the threat against Jurgen Klopp’s men to try get one back and was close when Matt Doherty smashed the crossbar, Man City went ahead on the 38th minute with a Laporte header, restoring themselves at the top of the table.

The second half saw Reds’ opposition continue to up the pressure though Liverpool which was telling in the deflated atmosphere in the ground.

Minutes after Origi had a shot superbly blocked by Conor Coady and then getting subbed, Man City found a third as Riyad Mahrez smashed the ball into the top corner sparking jubilant celebrations on the touchline of the Amex Stadium.

The goals didn’t end there at Brighton as Gundogun beautifully struck a free kick past keeper Mat Ryan to make it 4-1 and end any expectations of City’s party being ruined.

Liverpool’s Mane got a second in the 81st minute which meant a three-way tie for the Golden Boot, with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all on 22.
