There was a tense end at Stockport, York fans took to invade pitch mid-game, and we have Wednesday’s non league playoffs results.
Stockport County got a much needed victory against Torquay, winning 1-0 to put them back to the top of the National League table and three points ahead of Wrexham.
9,407 (121 away fans) were in attendance at Edgeley Park to witness Paddy Madden tap in from close range to get the only goal of the game.
It was a first half full of chances for the Hatters, however they just couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net.
Madden was in the right place at the right time to break the deadlock in the 64th minute, and the hosts could have doubled their lead shortly after when Sarcevic’s corner was nodded down by Madden, but a man on the line diverted it behind.

The best chance of the game for Torquay came in the 81st minute, when Joe Lewis was there with a free header but he steered it over the bar.
The 87th minute saw extraordinary keeping from Mark Halstead, somehow denying Myles Hippolyte from point-blank range! 1-0.
Torquay hit the bar in the 89th minute. A shot was diverted goalward from close range, but it rattled the bar before Hinchliffe scoops it over the bar.
Stockport managed to hold on for the win they only need to not lose against FC Halifax Town in the final game of the season to seal the title and promotion.
“We persevered and stuck at it and deservedly scored and should have won by more,” County boss Challinor told BBC Radio Manchester after the Torquay victory.
“It was about winning, we’ve done that and we move on.
“We’ve got a really big opportunity to make it a special day and a special season for us but we’ve got to recover because that was a monumental effort.
“We’ve had one opportunity [to secure the title] – it passed us by. We’ve got another opportunity this weekend and we’ve got to make sure we control us regardless of what happens elsewhere.”
Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson told BBC Radio Wales that while he’s disappointed Torquay could not do his side a favour, he is fully focused on the final day.
“I expected Stockport to get a result and now we concentrate on Sunday – that’s the big day,” Parkinson said.
“In my heart of hearts I knew that the game Stockport would be more likely to lose is the Halifax one because Halifax have got a lot to play for themselves.
“Like I’ve said, the aim was to take it to the last game of the season and that’s what we’ve done.
“We’ve got to go down there and make sure we take care of our own business and hope Halifax can do us a great favour.
We also saw the first of the National League North and South playoffs, with York City playing host to Chorley at a packed out stadium, setting a stadium record attendance with 6,394 (Second highest ever in the sixth tier and highest York City attendance in 15 years).
It took just 10 minutes for York to open the scoring, when a ball was sent over the top and Lenny was there to latch onto it and lob the ‘keeper from 25 yards.
Connor Hall got an equaliser for Chorley moments later, a free kick was headed back across goal and bundled in by Hall at the back post.

Kouhyar ball over the top and Matt Urwin swung a leg and missed the ball, allowing Mitch Hancox to run through and place into the back of the net to make it 2-1 York.
There was a break in play in the fourth minute of injury time when a number of York legged it onto the pitch to get the party underway even though the game still needed to be finished.
A substitution was made and the final whistle blew, another pitch invasion as it happened with York City booking a place in the playoff semi finals where they will take on Brackley Town.

Oxford City also booked a place in the National League South playoff semi final, where they will take on Dorking Wanderers.
Number 9 Elliot Benyon rose highest to meet Ashbyβs corner and headed the ball excellently into the left top corner to make it 1-0 after 23 minutes.
Then with 15 minutes remaining, Oxford City doubled their lead, Ewan Clark did excellently to break into the box. He hit from close range and the shot was blocked, but the ball went up and George Harmon was on hand to to head in on the line.
They were just took much for Eastbourne Borough and they crash out after giving it their all.
The attendance at the Velocity Stadium (aka Court Place Farm) is for a competitive fixture at 1,349.
