Sutton United troll York co-owner Matt Uggla after his post-match criticism of Will Davies

Sutton United took to troll York City co-owner Matt Uggla after his post-match criticism of Will Davies on Saturday afternoon.

Will Davies punished his former club York, scoring twice in a 2-1 win for Sutton, and a dent to York’s National League title hopes.

@WillDavies89 tweeted: “3 points. Thanks for the warm welcome ❤️”

@matt_uggla replied: “Guys acting like he’s on 30K a week a proper player. 700 pounds a week and rolls around with a Gucci wash bag. Paid off to leave because he’s a mid table player and that’s why he’s mid table. Get your funds up before you act like a big man.”

Sutton United tweeted “Womp womp” in response, before also uploading a picture of Will Davies’ cupping ears goal celebration. These tweets have gone on to get over half a million views on Twitter alone.

Sutton added: “By a landslide 🛝 With more than half of the vote, our 700 pounds a week player who rolls around with a Gucci wash bag is your Man of the Match! 🥇 And he has a message for you 🤳 👇”

Interviewer: Will, a welcome return back to York City tonight, talk us through the the game today.

Will: Yeah it was a good performance from the boys, I mean it took a lot we knew they were going to be a good side have a lot of possession but I think we just need to stay on our shape know that we’re going to get chances and just trust it and it worked and I think we were really good first half came in 2-0 up and gave us something to hold on to

Interviewer: In the second half couple of goals from you, talk us through the goals that you scored today?

Will: Yeah I mean when you know, when Simps has got a delivery like he has makes every you know set piece corner you just want to go and attack it, you ain’t got like for my first goal didn’t have to do a lot just sort of have to help it on its way so yeah that’s good and then the second goal just a shot into a roof of the net, and it’s nice to get a brace

Interviewer: Obviously you’ve been in form at the moment a good few goals scored since the end of November you must be especially pleased with the the performances you’ve been putting in of late

Will: Yeah I mean I feel like I’ve been trying to give the best performances throughout the year I mean as a striker when it clicks it clicks and you know your confidence is high so confidence is high at the moment so I’m scoring goals and long may it continue

Interviewer: The fans traveled in their numbers tonight just a word on them as well

Will: Yeah they were brilliant today I mean it’s a long way I think it took us about five and a half hours yesterday so for them that many of them to come up here and show support for the 90 minutes I’m glad they can go home with a win
