Storm blows seated stand at non league club Sheppey United onto it’s side after a photo was published on social media in the last few days.
The main stand as can be seen below, ended up in the Southern Counties East League Premier Division side’s car park, not long after they had only just made the ground Step 4 standard after 7 years hard work.

The club are said to be confident that they can have the ground fixed before the 2019/20 season is over. but it’s still a blow, with extra costs needed to cover repairs.
It comes as many non league sides have had their ground completely flooded by two storms in two weeks, and it was the gusty winds from Storm Ciara that torn apart Wisbech Town’s stand.

Secretary Spencer Larham told PA news agency: “Our north stand has been completely destroyed.
“It’s been there 10 years – since the stadium was built – and has survived stronger winds than this but it was the direction which did the damage. The identical stand at the other end is completely undamaged.
“I’ve spoken to our chairman Paul Brenchley and he says we’re looking at £20,000 minimum to remove and replace that stand.”
On their GoFundMe page, £2,783 has been raised, you can help add to that by clicking HERE.
As mentioned, grounds have been left underwater, some much so that Tadcaster Albion are at risk of closing. The club has estimated that to fix the damage it needs up to £42,000. It does not have any contingency funds left. So far £4,910 has been donated from football fans across the country. You can donate to them by clicking HERE.
