Our live stream ahead of Sundays Premier League match, Southampton vs Sheffield United is now up and running, kicking off at 12.00 GMT
You can keep an eye on the commentary as it happens below, but first, we take a preview into the fixture, lineups, predictions and much more…
Southampton have an opportunity to put back-to-back wins on the board following Monday’s late win against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Coming back from 1-0 down, the Saints were given a helping hand by VAR at the Amex Stadium and boss Ralph Hasenhuttl admitted after the game that his side were not at their best.
Danny Ings marked his return after five weeks out injured with scoring the winning penalty, as the Saints moved up to fifth in the Premier League.
Sheffield United, however, are without a win in 11 matches this campaign and sit bottom of the league. The winless run was extended last week by Leicester City, with boyhood Sheffield Wednesday fan Jamie Vardy scoring a last-minute winner at Bramall Lane.
Only once before in Premier League history – Queens Park Rangers in 2012-13 – has a side failed to win any of their opening 12 fixtures.
United boss Wilder’s job is not at immediate risk, though a run of 15 winless games in all competitions, with 14 ending in defeat, makes you wonder if the time is right for a change.
The two clubs last met on the final day of last season in July, with the Saints winning 3-1 at the Dell…
PRESS CONFERENCE:
Ralph Hasenhuttl
Max Lowe
whether the Blades are facing a “make-or-break” period in their season…
“We’re not looking at it as a make or break month but we know we need to get some results. We’re not too downbeat because a lot of games have been lost by fine margins but it is frustrating.”
“There’s a lot of good lads in the squad that are keeping the morale high. It’s more mental at the minute, staying confident and believing. The ball will drop for us at some point and hopefully that will be on Sunday.”
On having no fans in grounds…
“Ever since I joined there’s been no fans and it’s something I want to experience and feel. You need the fans there. A lot of the boys have said they’re like our 12th man so it can only help us and we can’t wait to get them back.”
“I’m itching for them to come back and personally, I want to do them proud by putting in good performances.”
Differences between Premier League and Championship?
“Compared to the Championship, the difference is playing against some of the best in the world. It’s taken me a while to adjust but I’m working hard. “
“The lads have said we’re not a million miles away but if you make a mistake, you’ll get punished. We’re confident we’ll get results.”
“We have to be more ruthless“
“We’ve got to be a bit more ruthless, teams have had that one chance and taken it. We hear the noise from outside but we try and focus on the next game, whenever it is. We’re ignoring anything from the outside.”
On playing Sunday lunchtime…
“It is strange, I’m not used to it but we haven’t had a 3pm kick off for a long time. We’re just adjusting to it like every team, we just want to play football at the end of the day.”
On Southampton…
“They’re doing really well, they’ve started well and have a lot of threats going forward. But we haven’t gone into any game with the mindset thinking it’d be easy. We know if we play our way and be ruthless, taking our chances, then we’ll be okay.”
Chris Wilder
On this weekend’s game…
I’m a bit bored and tired of saying the same things, so we have to affect it sooner rather than later. There’s always got to be the desire that the next game is the biggest and it’s a game we’re looking forward to.
FORM:

Sheffield United Premier League form: LLLLLL
LINEUPS:
Southampton possible starting lineup:
McCarthy; Walker-Peters, Bednarek, Vestergaard, Bertrand; Armstrong, Ward-Prowse, Romeu, Djenepo; Adams, Ings
Sheffield United possible starting lineup:
Ramsdale; Basham, Egan, Bryan; Baldock, Lundstram, Berge, Fleck, Lowe; McBurnie, Burke
THATSAGOAL TIP:
Danny Ings Anytime Goalscorer – 19/20 with FanTeam.
Ings returned with a goal to give Southampton all three points after a very dubious penalty decision went their way against Brighton. The Saints striker will no doubt start this next game and it could hardly be a kinder return.
Sheffield United are a shell of their former selves and are still searching for a second Premier League point of the season. Southampton and Danny Ings could climb into the top four win a win here.
