Earlier this week, the manager of National League South side Slough Town launched a social media appeal to find a goalkeeper who cover their FA Cup second qualifying round tie against Sholing.
It comes after their only keeper Jack Turner picked up an injury in the final minutes of their match against Eastbourne. Turner is expected to be fit but wants someone to act as backup.
Strange way of doing this via twitter however not getting what we need at present, but we are looking for a keeper as cover in the FA Cup for @sloughtownfc if interested PM me.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the manager said: “We’ve never had a second keeper, and if we have had a problem, we have normally gone and got somebody in on loan.”
“However, when it comes to the FA Cup, it’s very difficult because keepers have already played in the competition or teams higher up the pyramid don’t want to loan a keeper out.”
When asked if there is a chance for a potential contract, he said: “You never know in football.”
“We have had one or two replies that are quite interesting, so we’re having private chats and hopefully we can get something sorted.
“There could be the opportunity for an FA Cup run, so you never know.”
The club have since found someone as tweeted by the manager…
Slightly shocked at how many responses we have had in regards to a back up keeper for Jack this weekend! Some brilliant replies also ??! However we are now sorted! Social media at its best ?

Last season, Slough had an FA Cup run to remember when they reached the second round – the furthest they have ever gone in the competition – for just the eighth time, by beating Gainsborough 6-0 in the first round. They went on to play Rochdale for a chance to play the big boys in the third round but lost 4-0.
Since the appeal, the manager was inundated with replies for the role, plenty couldn’t help but be humorous in their tweets – check that reaction out on the next page.
