Sky Sports reporter Tim Thornton said: “He (Bruce) will have a healthier budget than some of his predecessors, that’s for sure/
“It’s our understanding he will have £50m plus the £30m from the sale of Ayoze Perez and then the £11m that was left over from last season.
“So up to £91m to spend and some of that spending could happen pretty quickly as well.
“Hoffenheim striker Joelinton we understand is in talks, concrete talks, with Newcastle over a potential move.
“Certainly strikers are the priority for Newcastle. They’ve lost their front line from last season.”
Bruce is favourites to become the first top flight manager of the new season to get the sack and the club are given 9/4 odds to finish in the relegation zone of the Premier League table according to Sky Bet.
