Sick video emerges of Burnley fans singing offensive helicopter crash taunt to Leicester

A sick video emerges showing Burnley fans singing offensive helicopter crash taunt to Leicester City at this week’s Premier League fixture.

The clip which has emerged online is reportedly from Tuesday night’s game with it doing the rounds on Twitter and other social media platforms.

It appears to show a section of the Clarets home crowd chanting “You’re going down like a chopper (helicopter)” in reference to the tragedy that claimed the life of the Foxes’ late chairman and owner, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Khun Vichai was one of five people who died in the 2018 King Power Stadium helicopter crash, with the aircraft coming down shortly after a home match against West Ham United on the 27th of October 2018 with no survivors.

Others to have sadly lost their lives in the tragedy was employees Kaveporn Punpare and Nusara Suknamai, and pilots Eric Swaffer and Izabela Lechowicz.

The disaster shocked and saddened the football world from staff, to players and supporters who were in much admiration for Khun Vichai, for bringing the community together and guide the club to a surprise Premier League title in 2016.

Fans in British football often wind up their rivals with distasteful songs from the terraces, however where is the common sense? A point in where chants cross a line and become so grim that you can’t even call it banter. Of all the chants in the world that you could use, how could you sing something so vile, about an incident like that – yet those singing in the video no doubt paid tribute/respect to what we were all witnessing at the time of it happening, but are no doubt so hammered while trying to look cool in front of their pals, that there ain’t a brain cell in them to even realise how much harm/distress it could be causing or just how stupid they truly look on the outside. Member(s) of their family will be watching the game, hearing everything, keep that in mind for the next time you think about piping up and think whether its cool to do so then or have you got that little dignity to show for yourself?

Burnley FC have been contacted by many supporters who heard the chant in midweek, no comment as yet has come from the club.

LeicestershireLive say that Lancashire Constabulary were contacted, but, the force said it had not been made aware of the clip and no complaint had been reported in relation to either the film or the incident.

LeicestershireLive add that there tried to get in touch with Burnley FC but no-one was available to comment.

@i_lcfc: Hope the fuckers get relegated

@I_am_karlos: And then relegated, and then relegated again and liquidate

@LCFCmjd: Irrelevant club, shit fans. They’ve never sold out an away end or a home game. Nice to see them finally going back to where they belong 👍⬇️

@J_Chapperz: @BurnleyOfficial hope these idiots are rounded up and banned for life!

@ashtrayboyo: Dirty #Burnley fans mocking the death of our late chairman at #LCFC “Going down like the chopper” with a few doing helicopter gestures. Absolutely appalling, praying they get relegated now after this. No wonder Vardy celebrated the way he did in front of them. I believe in Karma

@mnorman1985: Hope they get relegated. Never deserved a place in the premier league. There a nothing club that are just there to make up the numbers. #lcfc

@jakob_dickinson: Most irrelevant club in the whole of England wouldn’t worry about it too much

@measom_lee: BurnleyOfficial, that’s why everyone hates your club. Disgusting fan base for the few that turn up every week. Empty seats all over your ground. Shite club all round 👍🏻.

@BeccaChole15: Disgusting 😡 @BurnleyOfficial something should be done about this!

@ForeverAYellow: Proper hate when fans sing chants such as this or even the gestures just to try and get a pathetic rise out of people. It’s not banter, it aint funny, it aint cool, it you being a prick with no respect and then wonder why you’re ejected and getting hate. Just grim mocking the dead, especially the lovely gent that is Vichai! You wouldnt do it anywhere else.
