Sheffield Wednesday fans protest outside Thai Embassy and announce plans for the Carabao Cup game against Grimsby later this month.
The financial crisis continues, takeover bids are rejected, and fans are making their feelings known with protests and boycotts to cut owner Dejphon Chansiri’s income.
The EFL are reportedly investigating issues like late payments, transfer defaults, and salary delays, while embargo blocks permanent signings.
As per BBC Sport, Chansiri has rejected £40m and £30m bids, demands £100m, deemed unrealistic. An expert valuation lists it at £40-50m, taking into account losses, stadium issues).
It’s claimed that there is a potential buyer in John Textor, has £180m from the sale of Crystal Palace, but EFL approval is uncertain due to past issues.

Grimsby and Sheffield Wednesday fans have also announced how they plan to protest against Dejphon Chansiri when the two clubs face each other this month.
There are calls to hold a boycott of their Carabao Cup match against Grimsby to protest owner Dejphon Chansiri’s mismanagement, building on a successful Leeds boycott.
The aim is to withhold funds from the chairman. Instead, fans will organise alternative viewing events just like they done before.
Grimsby’s Mariners Trust supports this, urging their fans to avoid purchases inside the stadium and wear last season’s yellow shirts in solidarity.
🚨 Boycott – Grimsby (Carabao Cup) 🚨
Following the success of the Leeds boycott, we call on all #SWFC supporters to once again take a stand. The message is clear: every penny withdrawn from Dejphon Chansiri weakens his grip on our club.
We will not fund our own decline. ✊… pic.twitter.com/oSosGnfxdP

Statement from The Mariners Trust
“The Mariners Trust Board recently connected with the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters Trust after the draw was made for the next round of the cup.
The Sheffield Wednesday Supporters Trust are continuing their campaign to protest the mismanagement of their club and are asking home fans to boycott the game. They’ve reached out to us and asked for our support.
In solidarity with their cause, the travelling Mariners are encouraged to join the boycott by refraining from buying any pints, pies, or other items inside the stadium. They would also appreciate it if our fans wore last season’s yellow shirt to show our support for their black and gold campaign.
Football clubs belong to their communities and must be protected from poor ownership and management.

Twitter users gave their reaction as Sheffield Wednesday fans protest outside the Thai Embassy and announce plans for the Grimsby game…
@brasco78: Good luck with your campaign! Chansiri out! Even though i will be going to the game, I won’t spend a penny in the ground, will gladly go in late and loin any demonstration, would also gladly take in any banners you want on display! #utm #gtfc #swfc #chansiriout
@TWWcast: It’s great seeing the greater football family backing the SWFC supporters boycott of buying items in the stadium. But if you do get abit hungry there’s a cracking pork sandwich shop over the road and if you need a taste of home there’s a chippy close by aswell 😉
@austinloveridge: If your lot are wanting some scran before the game, Beres Factory is about a 3 minute walk from the ground which is usually open before game, or there’s one on Middlewood road again about 2 minutes walk from away end. £5-6 for a massive pork and stuffing sarny, dogs bollocks.
@aroundgroundsss: Togetherness in football. Doesn’t matter who you support clubs just come together when you have a bad owner #swfc #gtfc
@tommyuto: Please spend your money at the businesses in the surrounding area, they are feeling the effects of us boycotting games ❤️❤️
@owl_southyorks: Thank you so much for this show of support 👏👏👏
@barnesy5k: Well done Grimsby, top marks! Support very much appreciated! Good luck with your season and enjoy your night at S6.
@NorthYorksOwls: Hopefully someone can organise a way to donate money to Grimsby as they will miss out on revenue through the lack of ticket sales
@KyleTalbot97: A time for football fans to come together and do the talking🖤🤍
Wednesday & @officialgtfc have a history of helping each other out – in 1935 as a fundraiser #swfc took the FA Cup to Grimsby & played a benefit match in aid of shipwrecked Grimsby fishermen’s families.🙏 pic.twitter.com/PPxIPAFniO
