Unrest grows as Sheffield Wednesday fans aim a chant in protest at Dejphon Chansiri during their side’s defeat at Cardiff City.
It was more misery for the Owls as Saturday’s opponents Cardiff snatched a dramatic first victory of the Championship season with Ryan Wintle getting scoring a spot kick in the eighth minute of added time to make it four defeats from four games for Sheffield Wednesday to a fourth defeat from four games.
Ike Ugbo had put Cardiff in front early in the second half before Sheffield Wednesday hit back with a deserved equaliser through captain Barry Bannan from 20 yards out.
But just as it looked as though the Owls were going to get their first point of the campaign, Will Vaulks conceded a penalty for handball, then Wintle slotted his spot-kick.
“Dejphon Chansiri, get out of our club” could be heard chanted from the away end after Sheffield Wednesday went 1-0 down….
Here’s the chant.

“But this is the Championship,” Owls boss Xisco said post-match.
“You must be ready in all the minutes, the very first to the last. If you make mistakes in this league you will get punished and I have spoken about this.
“We are frustrated about the result, I think the performance was good away from home.
“We had control in the second half, we had power and showed important signs.
“We were unlucky to concede and again had bad luck in 97 minutes to receive a penalty against us and I don’t know for 100% if it was a penalty or not but after that, so late, there was nothing we could change.”
Xisco continued: “I think every day we are getting better and better, our high press today was very good and there was a good level in the performance.
“I am sad for the players because I know how hard they are working every day.
“They are working hard to improve the situations. We always try to put the positive things on our list and every day they are getting closer to what we want. We will see for the next one.
“We know the level in the Championship, our second half was better and we had a control and this is why I am sad for the players because this point for us was very important.
“The team were more solid today, with a better balance in defence and attack.
“We had good chances to score and if you don’t, then after you can have problems and in the Championship, every minute and action is important from the very first to very last.”

Here’s what Twitter users are saying Sheffield Wednesday fans aim a chant in protest at Dejphon Chansiri during the Cardiff defeat…
@Vonnie588: No way should that be sung mid match. Stay behind after the final whistle for that. Right now the players need our support. During the match we should be concentrating on getting behind the team.
@yh05pwy: It’s about time.
@GradyAtkins: I didn’t sing it. Ridiculous in the middle of a match. Weren’t singing it when we equalised 🤷♂️
@OzzellOwl: “When the fans want me to go, I’ll go”. We’ll DC, that time has come. Sell up and do one.
@nanjayman: The players need us more than ever. These chants should be done at the end of the game, not during it.
@jonthorpe1966: Lot of people with short memories here. Who was responsible for relegation to league 1 ? Whose return to the country coincided with worst run of form last season ? Whose money is it he is pissing down the drain cos it’s not his ? Rather go bust so it outs this fraud !!
@Ocs1867: #swfc louder please bout time we make a stand against Chansiri
@AshFinney1: So.. Shortly after this there was a discussion between a couple of fans about Chansiri, that turned into an argument, that turned aggressive and led to a scuffle/fight, I stepped in & broke this up. It was absolutely awful to see young kids around it in tears! Football is a game of opinions, leave it at a discussion if you can’t take what another fan has to say. Don’t be the reason to ruin a youngens day (the football is there for that!) and please Do NOT let Chansiri divide this fanbase! At the end of the day WAWAW
@DinoPaggiossi: At last! Chansiri can you hear it? 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@DARRENCOUPE1: Big protest at next home game
@Liamcafc1991: Didn’t hear this once last year lads Loose a couple games owners out 😂😂🤣 You wouldn’t know a shit owner if it hit you in the face
@IllustrationsJf: I 100% back this notion. He clearly doesn’t have the funds to back his managers up.
@PAUL_LymerSWFC: But will it be sung loud and proud at Hillsborough??
@jack_burditt:
Get them tennis balls out at the next game🤣#swfc
Fuck off chansiri
@corben_burrell: Fuck off Chansiri and take your fucking manager with you
@tombrayy:
