Rushall thrilled to announce signing of player with EFL and international experience

Newly promoted Rushall Olympic are thrilled to announce the signing of a player with EFL and international experience in Jake Gosling.

The Pics finished 5th in the Southern Football League table and qualified for the playoffs, defeated Coalville Town on penalty kicks and beat Nuneaton Borough, also on penalties. As a result, the club was promoted to the National League North for the first time in club history.

And preparations ahead of the 2023/24 campaign has well and truly started with excitement building for their debut season at this level.

The 29 year-old started his career within the youth ranks at Swindon Town before moving on to Plymouth Argyle and then Exeter City, where he signed professional terms in April 2012.

He had loan spells with the likes of Dorchester Town and Gloucester City during his time with the Grecians before joining Bristol Rovers on a permanent basis in the summer of 2014 and helped them secure promotion back into The Football League.

Having a spell out on loan at Newport County during the following season before returning to play his part as Rovers reached League One.

After loan spells with Cambridge United and Forest Green Rovers, his next permanent move took him to Torquay United.

Moving to the Midlands with work, he had a spell with Sporting Khalsa and then Bristol Manor Farm, excelling at both clubs where his higher level quality really came to the fore.

He has also been capped at International level by Gibraltar and has scored a couple of goals in his 12 caps, including a strike against Poland in a UEFA Euro 2016 qualifier.

“Jake is an unbelievably talented footballer,” said manager, Liam McDonald. “What a signing this is as he will add so much to us.

“We need players like this for the level that we are going in to; he’s played in The Football League and on the international stage, so we are bringing in someone with real calibre.

“He’ll add creativity and goals and I am really excited with this signing.”

With the team starting to take shape, and much work going on behind-the-scenes, we urge you to play your part by getting a season-ticket.

It’s going to be an exciting adventure as we make history and you can be here for every game with prices working out at less than a tenner per match for adults.

Season-ticket prices are as follows (based on 23 games, 2 more than last season): ADULTS: £220 (£9.57 per game), CONCESSIONS (seniors over-60 and 16-17 year-olds, students with valid NUS card, Emergency Services, NHS Staff and Armed Forces with a Blue Light Card and other valid ID): £140 (£6.09 per game), UNDER-16s: £90 (£3.91 per game) and UNDER-12s (maximum two can be purchased alongside an adult and concession Season Ticket): £30 (£1.30 per game).

“I’ve heard really good things about what the club has done over the past few years,” Gosling said. “It’s exciting to now be part of it and I am sure that with the lads from last season and the new signings that have come in, we can have a really good season.

“The Gaffer and I have spoken a few times and he has outlined his plans and style of play, which really appeals to me.

“To compete in this League is also something I am looking forward to; I played at this level when I was 18/19 on loan from Exeter and I know that I can still make a big impact.

“A lot of people have also spoken about how good the dressing room is here and the bond between the players and supporters. It’s a club that is used to winning and on an upward path and I would like to think that I can bring excitement to the fans.

“As an attacking midfielder or winger, I see my job as creating chances for my team-mates and also weighing in with goals.

“I never set myself personal targets at the start of a season; as long as I am performing well and helping the team win, that is the most important thing.”
