The Football Association has this afternoon confirmed that Rochdale player Jimmy Ryan has been given a three match ban.
This was because he yanked the hair of Tranmere Rovers forward Morgan Ferrier during the League One opener on Saturday afternoon.
Check out the photo that is doing the rounds online below…
What a little bitch Jimmy Ryan of @officiallydale is pulling on the hair of Morgan Ferrier in their game against @TranmereRovers in @SkyBetLeagueOne . Surely the @FootballAssoc should look and discipline him when @Rushcmpt got a red for just pulling someone over?! pic.twitter.com/CLnr2ft4c1

Rochdale wrote on their site yesterday: “We can confirm that the Football Association have charged midfielder Jimmy Ryan with violent conduct following Saturday’s win at Tranmere Rovers.
“The decision is in relation to an incident not seen by the match officials in the 94th minute of Dale’s 3-2 win at Prenton Park. However, the incident was caught on video.
“The Club can confirm that we will not be lodging an appeal against the charge.”
A spokesperson for the FA said on social media: “Jimmy Ryan has been suspended for Rochdale AFC’s next three matches.
“The midfielder admitted a violent conduct charge, which followed an incident that was not seen by the match officials but caught on video in the 94th minute of the EFL League One fixture against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday [3/8/19], and accepted the automatic penalty.”
After checking out the photo of Jimmy Ryan pulling Morgan Ferrier’s hair back, fans took to slam the Rochdale player but also react to the FA’s statement – see what was tweeted on the next page.
