Riyad Mahrez ended up being confronted by a stranger as an altercation plays out at the entrance of London restaurant Novikov.
The Premier League star was surrounded by security before they guided him to safety on Monday evening after a scuffle broke out when exiting with girlfriend Taylor Ward.
The Algerian footballer, 30, had been out at the popular Mayfair restaurant with Ward, the daughter of Real Housewives Of Cheshire cast-member Dawn Ward, when it took place.

Mahrez was seen being confronted by a man dressed in a black tracksuit as he left the restaurant – prompting security guards to move in fast.
The pair were taken away by staff members and security guards while the fracas – of which the cause is yet to be revealed – was getting diffused.
Seated in the back of their car which was parked up and waiting, Ward appeared to be viably shaken as the ordeal played out just feet away on Berkeley Street.

In accordance with current health and safety guidelines, Mahrez, who looks set to lift the Premier League with City – wore a protective face covering as the couple headed for the journey back to their hotel.
Though fans are left questioning why they were allowed to eat in the restaurant, yet rules state that the English public can’t eat inside until the 17th of May.
Pubs and restaurants are open for business, however they will only serve to the public outside, with many gazebos and benches popping up across the country to keep up with the income when they have an opportunity to get it in.

The pair got together in July 2020, not long after his separation from Rita Johal – with whom he shares a five-year old daughter.
A source told The Sun at the time: ‘Riyad and Taylor get on brilliantly, and initially started hanging out as mates. He thinks she’s gorgeous, and has joined her and her pals for a few group dates.
‘They’ve been friends for a while but Taylor refused to go there romantically until she knew his marriage was over. She is very much a girls’ girl and would never break that code.
‘Taylor is stunning and Riyad’s team-mates have been ribbing him about how he’s been punching above his weight.’

Along with Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva and his girlfriend are also in London for a short break this week, before the Manchester City squad will come together to begin preparations for their trip to Newcastle United on Friday night.
Pep Guardiola’s squad are just one win away from a third Premier League title in four seasons, although defeat for Manchester United against either Leicester or Liverpool before City play again would be enough to have the ‘C’ placed next to their name in the league standings.
