Premier League star comes clean on how he crashed his Lamborghini

One particular Premier League star comes clean on how he crashed his Lamborghini, whilst dressed as a snowman on Christmas Day.

If you haven’t discovered it already, West Ham player Michail Antonio ended up causing carnage, smashing up his vehicle into the front garden of a house.

The 29 year old midfielder smashed the Huracan worth as much as £210,000 into 20 year old Kia Rosina’s bin shed when she was just about to eat Christmas dinner with her family in South London at 6:30pm a few years back.

The high profile incident went viral, being splashed all over newspapers and on many websites, and of course what was more bizarre was he was dressed in a snowman suit.

Earlier on the day of the crash, Antonio had posted an Instagram video of himself a snowman costume singing “Walking in the Air”, the theme tune from the much loved classic ‘The Snowman’.

Kia told The Athletic: “Dinner was nearly ready and then I just heard this massive bang and the whole house shook.

“There are two bin sheds out there and they’re both bricks, and they went everywhere.

“At first, I thought it was a bus due to how loud the bang was. I looked outside and then I said, ‘Mum!’ then we ran outside to see if whoever was in the car was fine.”

Her mum said: “I put my arm around him (Antonio) because I was worried.

“I called the police and I asked for all the services, ambulance and fire brigade, because my main concern was that it was petrol and everyone would have to get out of the house because a lot of smoke was coming from his car.

“So I was fearing the worst like, ‘What if the car blows up?’

“He (Antonio) was on the phone shouting to someone saying he was alright.

“He kept saying, ‘Don’t keep telling me I’m stupid!’ to the person on the phone (and saying), ‘You should be asking me if I’m alright’.

“(It seemed like) the person on the phone kept having a go at him.”

A crowd of people turned up to watch him get himself out of the vehicle.

Well now Antonio himself has decided to speak out with On The Judy Podcast on what happened that day, and it’s well worth the read…

“It was Christmas Day. Still to this day it has hurt me. I miss that car.

Basically, obviously I was driving – slippery road. In the car, it corners nicely, it holds the road, so was going 30/35mph on a 30mph road. It holds corners so I think I don’t need to break, I’m just gonna go round the corner like I do all the time. Sick car.

“But as I go round the corner, it skids. So as it skids, I sh*t myself and I slam on the brakes – worst thing you could do on ice. Slam on the brakes, you just speed up, you’re meant to just go with it kinda thing. Slam on the brakes, skid, I’ve just gone up the curb, but I don’t really remember it, everything just happened so fast.

“Then smoke comes out of the front of the car. The engine is in the back so I’m thinking ‘the car is gonna blow up!’, even though it’s just the airbags. I’m then having to jump out of the passenger side of the tiny car. It’s a madness.

“And the thing is, I was in a snowman costume as well. I don’t get why I didn’t take it off in there, sort it out.”

He also said: “I was confiscating people’s phones saying ‘Give me your phone! Give me your phone!’ I was taking peoples’ phones!

“The only person’s phone that I didn’t take was the owner of the house and she was the one that came out blogging. Wasn’t even her garden! She lives around the corner that was attached to the garden. But she sold the story saying ‘Lamborghini in my garden’, and then she sold the story again this year!

“I was struggling to get insurance this year. No-one wanted to insure me! I had to go to a specialist insurance company, so my insurance this year is a madness! I’ve got a G63 now. They were offering me £10,000 for an A3 to insure, or get a G63 and pay double the price but get to drive a G63 instead of an A3. I’d rather pay £20,000 and drive a G63 rather than pay £10,000 and drive an A3.”

As the Premier League star comes clean on how he crashed his Lamborghini, it’s also claimed that he now pays £20,000 in car insurance because of what happened.
