Plymouth confirm appointment of new manager from League One side

Plymouth Argyle have this afternoon confirmed the appointment of Ryan Lowe as their new manager for the 2019/20 season onwards.

Lowe leaves crisis club Bury for the Pilgrims who are in a league that the manager has just won promotion from with the Shakers.

The new man in charge at Home Park replaces Derek Adams who was sacked by Plymouth over a month ago when they were hammered 5-1 by Accrington Stanley.

Ryan said: “I am thrilled to have been appointed Argyle manager and to have been given this opportunity to manage a great football club.

“I cannot wait to get started and to meet the legendary Green Army.”

Argyle chairman Simon Hallett said: “Ryan was the outstanding candidate from a very strong and impressive list of top-quality managers.

“We welcome him to Home Park, having no doubts that his footballing philosophy and attacking style is perfect for the way our supporters like to see Argyle play.”

After learning that Plymouth Argyle have appointed Bury boss Ryan Lowe as their new manager, fans took to both club’s social media pages to give their reaction – find out what they said on the next page.
