PLAYER RATINGS: England 5-0 Czech Republic – Three Lions run rampant as Sterling grabs hat-trick

England got off to a flying start in their first match of the Euro 2020 qualifying stage after hitting five past Czech Republic with the help of an own goal at Wembley tonight.

Raheem Sterling broke the deadlock on the 24th minute when Jadon Sancho, on his first competitive start, squared the ball to the Manchester City player who slid it home.

Harry Kane doubled England’s lead by smashing in a penalty after Sterling got fouled prior to half time.

A third goal was netted on the 62nd minute when Sterling grabbed his second with composed finish, curling the ball inside the far corner.

He then completed his hat-trick six minutes later with a deflected 20-yard strike to make the scoreline 4-0.

The 84th minute saw Callum Hudson-Odoi – the youngest player in the history of the England national team to win his first cap in a competitive match (18 years 135 days) – have a shot saved, but the ball rebounded off Kalas and trickled over the line.
