Patrick Bamford surprises fans at a Kaiser Chiefs gig this weekend with Luke Ayling and Kalvin Phillips watching on.

Bamford made a surprise appearance at a homecoming concert at Temple Newsam in Leeds, delighting fans by joining the band on stage to play guitar during their performance of “I Predict a Riot.”

Leeds fans sing various chants, but the one the has stood out in recent years is based on the Kaiser Chiefs’ song “I Predict a Riot” from their debut album.

This chant, sang by over 35,000 supporters at Elland Road, creates quite the atmosphere.

The buzz for it really came in celebration after making a comeback against then fellow Championship side Leicester City back in February 2024.

Leeds found themselves trailing 1-0 for the most of the game before Connor Roberts levelled the scoreline in the 80th minute.

Three minutes later, Leicester’s goal-scorer from the game, Wout Faes scored an own goal, giving the lead to the home side in the final minutes of the game. Striker Patrick Bamford then extended the lead in added time to seal the deal.

In April 2024, Leicester mocked Leeds by posting ‘I predict a riot’ after getting promoted to the Premier League. Leeds went on to lose to Southampton in the playoff final.

Leicester then got relegated from the Premier League the following season. Leeds sang it after winning promotion from the Championship.

I predict a riot – Lyrics
Watching the people get lairy
It’s not very pretty I tell thee
Walking through town is quite scary
It’s not very sensible either
A friend of a friend he got beaten
He looked the wrong way at a policeman
Would never have happened to Smeaton
An Old Leodensian
La… la, la, la, la, la
Ah… la, la, la, la, la
I predict a riot
I predict a riot
I predict a riot
I predict a riot

Here’s how fans on Twitter reacted after Patrick Bamford surprise fans at the Kaiser Chiefs gig with Luke Ayling and Kalvin Phillips watching on…

@TripleAche14: Bamford’s finally hit legend status at Leeds. Been an up and down ride, but great to see him take on the mantle of respected old head in the dressing room

@robbieerrington: Big fan of that Viduka shirt!

@Tudderzzz: This young lad won a competition 🤣

@WlvVsMonkeyKong: Kaiser Chiefs at Temple Newsam in Leeds yesterday. Great day out at what was a mini-festival more than a gig. Kaiser Chiefs were amazing, bringing Patrick Bamford and the Championship trophy out on stage added to a very Leeds-centric gig (so many LUFC shirts there).

@boozysuzie64: Patrick bamford wearing a Mark viduka shirt my life is complete #lufc 💙💛
