Nottingham Forest consider a complaint to PGMOL over the performance of referee Stuart Atwell and assistants after the Man Utd defeat.
Forest are said to have been left “very angry” after number of decisions in the Premier League and feel as though standards are worsening.
Attwell controversially sent off Forest captain Joe Worrall, while several other decisions left boss Steve Cooper far from satisfied.
Worrall received marching orders after being adjudged to have brought down Bruno Fernandes as the last man, with Forest left further incensed moments after when Marcus Rashford earned a controversial penalty.

It’s claimed that Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis had been left so angry while watching the game from his base in Greece that he is now looking to complain to the PGMOL.
Forest aren’t happy that Scott McTominay was only booked despite appearing to aim a kick at Cheikhou Kouyate.
Willy Boly appeared to be covering Fernandes’s run towards the penalty area before being brought down by Worrall. However, VAR confirmed the red card and Worrall made his way off with the score still level at 2-2.
Steve Cooper said: “I just think in games like these you just — I don’t even want to say good luck to go your way — you just want things to be as they should.
“I’m not going to talk too much about the decisions because I don’t want to get myself into trouble, but the only thing I was surprised about was how quickly the decisions were made at that moment in time.
“You see now, on decisions that can define a game — which maybe, amongst other things, did today — you tend to see referees take a bit more time, particularly at the top, top level. So I was really surprised, looking at it, how quick it all happened.
“You just need things to go your way. I’m just biting my tongue, in terms of what I really feel. Of course they were defining moments in the game — although there was other things as well.”

Here’s what fans had to say as Nottingham Forest consider a complaint to PGMOL over the referee and assistants performance after suffering defeat to Man Utd…
@Nottsclassics: Something has to be done it’s got a very corrupt feeling to it
@nffcalways1: I get why but we all know it won’t change, there’s a ridiculously obvious bias in the premier league towards the top sides & an equally obvious agreement between officials that they’ll stick together, VAR officials won’t make their colleagues on the ground look bad by overruling
@_stonyd: Atwill is corrupt
@GrumpyDad3: No point complaining to the PGMOL or the Premier League, they’re are all complicit in the corruption that has ruined our beautiful game. Utd are a poor team. But they are being assisted by the officials every week.
@wict01: After Mike Dean’s comments, any fragile confidence left in the officials and VAR is surely gone? They’ve basically admitted they don’t do their job properly so why would any of us have any faith now? All they’ll do is apologise and nothing will change
@jrprentice: So they should – today (especially the penalty and red card) was a total disgrace
@Nffc_bailey: Every decision at old Trafford this season has gone in the way of united. It seriously needs looking into.
@NUFCLC: If PL clubs including my own had anything about them they would back this all the way
@GaryMarriott73: He will only get a week off. Something needs doing as the standard of refereeing this season has taken a backward step. Maybe VAR took a leaf out of Mike Deans book and backed up his mate. Joke. #PGMOL
@YSLRNUFC: Shocking. Man United getting decisions their way at Old Trafford!!! Acts suprised.
@TheVillaDecree: Corrupt @FA_PGMOL protecting their six again. United their number one. Sickening. Atwell awful but must be nice and rich now.
@h_good11: Not surprised, most corrupt league in the world
@wwfcbilly: don’t blame them, happened to us first game
@ForestSince: To be fair we played better with 10 men. But still, it never is a red. And the peno compared to Aurier getting cropped last week and nowt given is a an absolute joke
@martsparts: He was shocking for both teams, but made two huge calls that swung the game. The problem is VAR should be there to pull up the on field ref , specifically on reds and pens.. but the law is the other way round. & completely absent at OT
@AvfcSims: Agree, the penalty wasn’t a penalty, and the red wasn’t a red. They should be booking United players for diving. Two wins have been handed to man United by poor refereeing standards
