Northampton Town fans have been getting a mocking for their pitch invasion over their late win against Forest Green Rovers.
It looked to be heading for a draw but Kevin van Veen won the ball inside the box and picked out Andy Williams to secure the Cobblers’ first league win since August and their first home win since April.
With the goal coming in the 97th minute, a section of Northampton fans jumped over the barrier on legged it on the pitch to celebrate.
Viewer James Cook, who was watching the game on iFollow, took a photo of those scenes and posted it on Facebook group Football League Two.
He mocked them by saying: “Pitch invasion for a winner against fgr. we needed to lose at some point. So not that bothered but my god that’s tinpot.”
After the rest of the day’s results, the win took Northampton up to 19th and Forest Green fell out of the playoffs.
The fan’s post on the Facebook group received plenty of attention, with any other fans taking to mock the celebrations – check out those comments on the next page.
